Since most of the repairs or builds I do are for individuals and/or small repairs most places aren't interested in doing I don't get much feedback. The ones from my shop I'll call a week or so later and depending on the part I sometimes follow up a few months later. At work it's different since I don't give my info to customers or ask for theirs so I have to assume whatever it was they're happy and doing good. My thoughts are if there was a problem you'd get feedback for sure.
When the person that referred you to repair a part on an old sailboat sends a screenshot of a message he got from the customer right after picking up his part that reads like this it feels great. No it's not a rare piece of art or worth a million dollars but it's valuable to the person that did the work.
A lot of times we need things repaired or buy something someone made and really don't put a lot of thought in the details. When things are handmade or parts have to be made by someone there is so much that goes in to that most people don't know. So many things have to be taken in to consideration to make things work depending on the part or function. Some are simple cut, clean reattach yes but some things are much more especially doing aircraft and watercraft.
I enjoyed this repair, appreciate the person that gave me a referral and the customer.
