John’s C7 Z06 came back to us with a noise we’ve become all too familiar with… so we tore into the LT4 to find a bad lifter and a damaged camshaft.
John had previously had a cam and head job done by another shop up north, so after we gave him the damage report, he said, “Well, if we’re doing all this, let’s upgrade it!” 😎
So that’s exactly what we did.
We reached out to our good friends at Pray Performance for a camshaft that would fit this combo, and they recommended their “Your Daddy” camshaft. And boy, did it deliver! 🔥
We also found the car still had the factory pushrods and no trunnion upgrade, so we took care of that with the best in the business — CHE Trunnions.
The factory LT4 oil pump wasn’t going back in either, so we stepped up to a Katech Oil Pump to finish off the valvetrain and oiling upgrades.
And of course, no build like this would be complete without a custom torque converter from our buddies at Circle D Specialties. 👊
Once everything was back together, we got it on the dyno…
And laid down FOUR DIGITS.
You heard me right — FOUR DIGITS! 💥💥
IN THE SUMMER HEAT AT THAT!
This C7 Z06 is an absolute monster, and John is going to be a problem for anybody who lines up next to him.
Check out the video for the dyno pulls and the graph!
Huge thanks to John for continuing to trust us with his baby and allowing us to make it better and better every time it leaves Toland Motorsports. We’re proud to be a part of this build and can’t wait to see what he does with it! 🔥
