We are based out of Oelwein, IA.

Great meeting last night Discussed Field Day and County Fair events coming up, took the first step in being able to hook our repeater up to Allstar. One of our new hams even went home with a Yaesu FTM300 mobile.

Photos from Sunday April 26, 2026 at Volga Lake. We setup an HF station and made many contacts. It was the Florida QSO party and there were many stations with strong signals on 20 meters. We also did some testing with AREDN IP Cameras. We had 3 cameras and were able to view them all on a website for easy access.

Reminder, we will have our club meeting starting at 6:30PM tomorrow night (Thursday) Location: City of Fayette Library Community Room.

The main topic will be storm spotting resources and procedures for the club.

Reminder, the National Weather Service in LaCrosse is NOT doing in person training sessions this year and is only doing 3 virtual training sessions.

Real-time storm reports, coupled with Doppler radar technology, are critical when it comes to issuing timely and accurate severe weather warnings. Thank you to everyone that came out to our meeting last night for show and tell. We got to see a wide range of things. Radios from a Baofeng mini to a Flex Aurora. And other things like an APRS digipeter using a Raspberry Pi, Satellite tracking software/radio, Starlink Mini, a Cyber Deck project, even a morse code practice key built using a tuna can. Just one of the many fun things we do throughout the year. Everyone is always free to join us at any meeting. Next meeting will be March 5, 6:30PM at the Fayette Library. Presentation will be about storm spotting for our club with what resources are available to assist us.

Reminder: Club meeting Thursday evening - 6:30PM - Fayette Library Community Room. We will have election of officers and discuss upcoming events for 2026.

The presentation will be on Winlink as Dan will be bringing our gateway and we are going to try and get it responding properly again. If you have a VHF Winlink setup that you want to test, make sure you bring it and we can test it.

With the forecasted likelihood of a few inches of snow Saturday evening, Dan and I decided we should cancel the December dinner/meeting for this Saturday.

We will handle December business at our next meeting, which right now is scheduled for January 8, 6:30PM at the Fayette Library.
