We are thrilled Ryan Norman has rejoined Middleby as VP of Middleby Consultant Services. In this role, he will lead our efforts to support the Middleby brands throughout the global foodservice consultant community.

Ryan brings more than three decades of experience to Middleby, and what truly sets him apart is that he is a true foodie! Ryan’s passion for food extends well beyond his work life; he is a dedicated culinary enthusiast who is passionate about new flavors from around the globe.

Ryan and his wife, Holly, are all about travel and new experiences. He has been to 49 states (Alaska is the lone holdout) and five continents and is confident they will get to Africa and Antarctica. He says a train trip across Australia was life changing and among his favorite adventures, and he looks forward to experiencing the start of the Tour de France in Edinburgh, along with several stages, next year.

When he is at home in Germantown, Wisc., Ryan enjoys golfing, fishing, watching Formula 1 racing, and sampling a good bourbon. Ryan and Holly have four dogs: two yellow labs named Edie and Gus, and two dachshunds named Banana Bread and Sugar.

We are excited to welcome Julie Thomssen to Middleby!

Julie has hit the ground running as our new European Marketing Director. In this role, a key responsibility is aligning the marketing strategies of our exceptional Middleby brands across Europe. Her deep and diverse international experience will be highly beneficial as we bring together our European brand identities, while preserving their distinctions.

With nearly two decades of international marketing experience across B2B and B2C industries, Julie holds a PhD in marketing and brand building from The Manchester Metropolitan University. Marketing is her passion, and she says it offers variety, speed, and an outlet for creativity, like no other position. When time allows, she run seminars on branding at the Marketing faculty at Augsburg Univ.

While Julie is English, for the last 20 years she has lived in Munich with her husband and two daughters, where she balances work with sport. In Germany she has easy access to lakes and mountains allowing her family opportunities for mountain biking, hiking, and skiing, and proudly admits her daughters are much better skiers than she is. Julie enjoys any opportunity to travel with her family and plays golf when possible. Her husband is employed in the golf industry which takes him throughout Germany and allows her to be engaged in gastronomy via the course restaurants– an excellent way to combine business with pleasure.

What a day at the Chase Corporate Challenge earlier this month! Way to go team!

We left it all on the field closing out the National Restaurant Show earlier this week. On our closing day we want to recognize a few groups:

First, we were proud to host the Middleby Board of Directors at the Show on Tuesday. Our board is committed to elevating Middleby to be the best it can be, and seeing our solutions in action will help them in this endeavor. Everyone was excited to experience our latest innovations and engage with our team. Thank you, Middleby Board, for all you do and for your efforts above and beyond on a crazy travel day to join us at the show.

Second, these are the Middleby tried and true, our crew to the end on Tuesday a few minutes before show close.

Thank you team for working the Tuesday pm shift, you brought the Saturday morning energy to our last few hours.
