Getting back at it with the horse barn transformation into a welding shop/metal art studio. 13 sheets of 26ga have been acquired and will be apart of phase 1 of this project. Beyond grateful and blessed to be doing all this with daddy. 🥰🤗

Just an update 🤗 I want to apologize for being MIA with Alpo’s Daughter the past few weeks. There have been some pretty big changes; not only with my business, but also with life too. I just wanted to say that I am still here and will start again with my art and creations very soon. One huge update, is I have moved my shop back to my property and the “Hot Mess Barn” as I lovingly call it lol Please be patient (as always, y’all have been so supportive and that means so much to me😊). Also, if you have ordered anything, I will be reaching out as best I can over the next week or so, to touch base with you and see where we are at. But you are always welcome to message me on this page too, if you haven’t heard from me. I know I do not have phone numbers for some of you. This transition will take some time and will be a continued work in progress over here; to get everything up and going. But this is exciting and I know daddy (Alpo) is also excited to be able to start creating with me over here like we used to 🥰 I want to be known as a good business owner and artist, and to me that is keeping my customers and followers in the loop with everything that is going on. Now for some reality…As much as I would love Alpo’s Daughter to be my full time job, sadly it isn’t possible and I will be back to working at least 2 “adult jobs” so I can make ends meet. This is nothing new to me and I’ve always taken pride in being able to problem solve and figure out solutions to lifes hiccups. I know everyone can relate to this. Life is tough already, but add on being single, taking care of a home with acreage and livestock, trying to start a small business, having the only source of income being what I can bring in, etc. and the list goes on. Anyways, I love y’all! I love what I’m blessed to be able to do and I’ll be back playing in my rusty old scrap metal soon 😘 - Megan

If there’s ever a photo that I’ll cherish more than anything, it’s this one. I’ve been playing around with turning old rusted washers into flowers and couldn’t wait to show daddy this one (its giving me ge**er daisy vibes 🌼). It’s a fairly large washer and was in rough shape. Well, I turned it into this. When daddy saw it, he asked to hold it and for me to take a picture. I’ll never forget the look on his face right before he hugged me so tight and said he loved me and that he was so proud of me. All I did was take the tools that ive seen him use, what he taught me to do over the years and i applied it to this flower. Its because of him that I started Alpo’s Daughter. I’m a very sentimental person and this photo of his worn calloused hands holding something I made (from one of his old washers) is so beautiful. Some of you know what it took to do this. Grinding stone, cutting wheel, chisel and round punch, peen hammer, anvil and snips were use

Just a few highlights from the shop the past few days. So many different things are going on simultaneously at the moment and it’s exciting 🤩. Everything from the usual material prep and finishing work, to working on wrapping up the orders currently in progress and getting everything ready for the next batch of orders on deck to start, brainstorming new ideas and of course welding 😎 I’ve been getting lots of practice putting the initial’s for Alpo’s Daughter on all of the finished pieces (hand painted and then I drilled a “pocket” for the crystal to sit flush in ). I’ve also got some big ideas for those old telephone insulators (these are just a few of the special ones from my personal collection). Allen has been working on a cross that features some pretty special 1940’s paneling (from his personal collecton) that came off of a circus ride. He thought it would look great as a backing for the “Clover Cross” and I couldn’t agree more 😍 I’m still getting my butt kicked by the Tulips 🤦‍♀️, but I do see an end in sight and can’t wait to get that cross to its new home! - Megan

I just wanted to share with everyone a message I received this morning, a wonderful message that might have made me cry….just a little bit lol. It came from one of my amazing customers and is probably one of the best compliments any artist could hope to receive, especially a newbie like myself. If people are able to look at any one of my welded creations (past, present and especially future) and notice all of the care, attention to detail, the laughs, love, and even feel the tears of frustration I had at times; then I feel I have done my job as artist/creator. I have always believed that art is supposed to make you feel something/anything and also take you on a journey, whatever that may be for you 🙂 Ok, so most importantly, and even way before I started welding/creating; I knew I wanted to make sure my customers knew what the items were that i was using and where those seemingly random rusty treasures came from. I feel that is one more way I can take that extra step to personalize and make my art more unique and special. **side note, sometimes certain material is unable to come from mine or dads “hoard”, I mean, private collections 🤣, and i will outsource locally through friends/farmrrs/neighbors, etc , so i can locate that perfect rusty part that came off an “___ “ tractor that was hooked up to a “___” at “so-and-so’s “place about 20 years ago 🤣. Y’all, by telling you that real life antidote, I just hope it shows even more how much I enjoy and love everything that I’m doing at ‘Alpo’s Daughter’. As always, thank you, every single one of you for the constant love and support….big things are on the horizon 😘🤗🤗 - Megan

I don’t think I could ever describe the feeling of handing over your very 1st commissioned order. There were so many firsts during this project and it will forever hold a special place in my heart. Thank you again to Dan and Sharon for trusting in me as an artist and allowing me to create these special crosses for you…May you enjoy them for many years to come 🤗 -Megan

Today is a big day!!!!! From day 1 of starting Alpo’s Daughter, I have tried to figure out how I was going to mark my creations….sign it as Megan or use some variation of daddy’s initials with mine, etc…..Well, I decided to sign it as “Alpo’s Daughter” and use the initials of the business 🥰 I know the marking of my art will more than likely change/evolve over time, but I think this is a very good start. 🩷Pink ink and of course an AB magenta colored rhinestone 🩷😍

***New addition to the workshop 😍😎 I just wanted to highlight the recently added “Completed Cross” wall 😍 The majority of these crosses are already spoken for, but please reach out to myself or Allen to inquire about pricing and/or to place an order. Also, if you can imagine it, we would love the opportunity to try and make it for you. Whether it be a cross, sculpture, wall or center piece, or whatever else you might have always wanted to have, but didn’t know who to ask. 😊 As always, thank you from the bottom of my heart for the continued love and support. -Megan
