This beautiful Amherst home already had a timeless, tucked-away charm, and the new roof helped elevate its entire exterior profile. We installed CertainTeed Landmark PRO in Max Def Shenandoah, a warm, dimensional shingle with rich earthy tones and a refined wood-shake appearance that complements the home’s wooded setting and classic New England character. What made this project even better was hearing Diane’s experience afterward: several homeowners in the area recommended Peak Performance Roofing, and she found our team to be professional, thorough, and easy to work with. We’re grateful for the trust and proud to deliver roof replacement services Amherst homeowners feel confident recommending.

If your roof is ready for an upgrade, contact Peak Performance Roofing for trusted roof replacement services throughout Amherst and the Pioneer Valley.

Standing seam metal roofing is built for strength, longevity, and serious weather protection. Unlike snap-lock panels, mechanically-seamed panels are custom roll-formed on-site, cut to exact roof dimensions, and locked together with specialized equipment for a tighter, more durable seam. In New England’s snow, wind, and freeze–thaw conditions, these systems help resist uplift, separation, and leaks—especially when using single-lock or double-lock seams tailored to the roof’s slope and performance needs. At Peak, we install mechanically-seamed standing seam roofs because they deliver the long-term protection homeowners can count on.

Spring is here 🌸, and our summer schedule is already starting to fill up with asphalt shingle roof replacements 🏠—so now is the time to start thinking about your roof, especially color 🎨.

With CertainTeed Landmark PRO, you get some of the best color options in the industry—and in our experience, homeowners often have a hard time choosing between CertainTeed’s two shades of black…so let’s help set the record straight 👇.

Moiré Black offers a softer, blended look that reads as charcoal gray in sunlight ☀️ and deepens in shade, making it a great fit for homes with natural tones, stone, or warm siding 🪵.

Charcoal Black is a deeper, more dramatic black that creates bold contrast ⚫—perfect with white trim and lighter exteriors for a clean, high-impact look 🤍.

Your roof will define your home’s look for decades ⏳, and the right shade can completely change how it feels every time you pull into your driveway 🚗.

Not sure which direction to go? Moiré Black is more subtle and traditional, Charcoal Black is stronger and more eye-catching—and both are excellent choices 👍.

Congrats to Tim's Barber Shop in Greenfield on their 14 years in business! Always worth the trip north.

Congrats to Tim's Barber Shop in Greenfield for 14 years in business! Worth the northern trek without a doubt

Today is a special day for us — Tim’s Barber Shop turns 14 years old!

We are incredibly fortunate to be where we are today, and it’s an honor to work alongside the barbers we have. I’ve been cutting with Matt for 13 of those years. Tom and I met in barber school back in 2008/2009 and have been working together ever since. Tristan started out as one of our clients years ago, became a barber, and is now part of our team. Not many people can say they’ve worked with the same crew for this long, and I don’t take that for granted. I’m beyond lucky.

When I opened the shop in 2012, I was just 23 years old. A lot has changed in 14 years. The shop has grown — and grown some more. We’ve faced obstacles and constant change, and we’ve learned how to adapt. There was even one summer when we had no front windows after a car somehow crashed into the shop!

Over the years, we’ve met countless clients. We’ve shared laughs and hard moments together. We’ve watched kids grow up right in front of us — from their very first haircut to graduations and even bigger life milestones. As someone who has grown up alongside this business, and alongside this town, I realize more and more how incredibly lucky we are to experience all of it.

To our clients, our supporters, and everyone behind the scenes — thank you. Thank you for believing in us and for being part of these 14 years!

Here’s to many more!

Snow retention is an important part of a properly designed roofing system — especially here in Western Massachusetts. These systems are engineered to hold snow in place so it melts gradually, instead of releasing all at once in a dangerous roof avalanche. Without the right setup, sliding snow can damage gutters, landscaping, lower roof sections, and pose serious safety risks near walkways and driveways.

Not every roof requires snow retention. Asphalt shingle systems naturally grip snow and often don’t need additional protection. Metal roofing, however — especially standing seam and exposed fastener systems — sheds snow quickly due to its smooth surface. That’s why properly designed snow retention is critical for many metal roof installations. Placement also matters. Retention is typically recommended above entryways, driveways, vents, pipes, and other roof penetrations where falling snow could cause damage or injury.

There are several types of snow retention systems, and choosing the right one depends on the roofing material. Continuous bar-style systems (often called snow rails) such as ColorGard by S-5! are ideal for standing seam metal roofs and can clamp directly to the seam without penetrations. Individual pad-style snow guards are commonly used on metal, slate, and tile roofs for a lower-profile look. Premium materials may require engineered solutions from manufacturers like Alpine SnowGuards to ensure proper load distribution and long-term performance.

At Peak, snow retention is never an afterthought. Every roof installation is carefully evaluated based on material, pitch, layout, and surrounding conditions. The goal isn’t just to install a new roof — it’s to design a complete roofing system that performs safely and reliably for years to come. When you upgrade your roof with Peak, you’re getting expert planning, quality materials, and craftsmanship done right the first time.

Classic character, modern performance. ✨

This metal shingle project delivered the timeless look of Spanish clay tile—without the weight, maintenance, or upkeep—making it a smart, durable upgrade for a historic Easthampton property. Metal shingles offer long-lasting protection, improved fade resistance, and flexibility for complex roof areas, all while preserving a traditional aesthetic.

Special projects like this require specialty materials, and lead times or availability can vary depending on the system and scope—so planning matters. Have a unique roof in mind?

Ask us about your project and let Peak help you get it done right!

Let’s talk shingles!!!

Asphalt shingles are the most common roofing choice for residential homes, and they generally come in two types: architectural shingles and three-tab shingles. Architectural shingles are thicker, more durable, and offer a more dimensional, high-end appearance, which is why they’ve become the most popular option today. Three-tab shingles have a flat, uniform look and were once the standard due to their affordability, but they’re now less common and often found on older roofs. At Peak, we install Landmark and Landmark Pro architectural shingles (from ) using manufacturer-recommended best practices to deliver a roof that looks great and performs reliably for years to come.
