Lab X live axle buggy cross

Lab X live axle buggy cross This page is dedicated to ideas and ways to bring Lab X (Live axle buggy cross)organized racing to Michigan.

We're wanting to start organized racing for small chain driven buggies and off road go karts to race on motocross and quad tracks here in Michigan. Our goal is to hopefully throughout Michigan try and compete as a class at events and venues that host motocross and quad racing. Idea's, suggestions, photos and experience are welcome. If you are interested in helping us bring this to Michigan, hopefully ideas can grow from here.

Good afternoon Lab-X. Just letting ya all know I’ll be getting back to the kids buggy shortly. Had a heat wave move through Michigan and I’m not willing to die building it 😂. Once it cools off a bit I’ll be back at it. Stay tuned

Good Sunday afternoon Lab-X. I got a few more hours in on the new kids buggy build this afternoon. Finally cut the frame and set it up for piecing it back together and welding it. I got up to the point of tack welding it together still have two more pieces I have to make to finish up the extension and I should be able to get to that tomorrow afternoon sometime. Nothing really exciting in the pics . Just a pic of when I first cut it in half. Then a pick as I was piecing it together and finally one of me starting to tack weld it together. I’ve got plenty more coming your way. Stay tuned!!

Good afternoon Lab-X. Little update on the kids buggy build. I did in fact get out into the garage for a few today and finished up most of the tear down of the kids buggy. Took longer than I expected because I ran into many rusted bolts but in the end I managed to get them out. Next up is moving a little bit of the wiring so I can set the buggy up for frame cutting. Gonna extend it about 15 inches. Get that welded back up and I’ll start figuring out how I’m gonna mount the motor to the buggy. Here’s a couple of un exciting pics of where I’m at 😆. I got plenty more to come. Thanks for following and stay tuned

Good afternoon Lab-X! Not a huge update today as far as my kids kart build goes but I have come to a decision on it. I decided I’m just gonna stretch the frame on the kids kart. There will be much less welding and fab work going this route. I’m still gonna be powering it with the fourtrax 250. I’m pretty sure I’m gonna also use the front end of the fourtrax as I was undecided at first. This should give me a decent tall stance and get the new look I’m going after. I did start the tear down of the kids kart today and I’ll finish that up sometime tomorrow. I got more coming your way, Stay tuned!

So I tried to get into this kids kart and with my fat a*z it wasn’t happening 😂. So I started looking at maybe combining my manco silver fox frame that’s been hacked on a few different times with this kids buggy. The seat pan area of the kids buggy looks like it would be about perfect size for the silver fox frame that I hacked up when I was making it into a high 4x4 style buggy. Well I scraped that idea and now I’m thinking about making one last build out of all of it. So it would be the rear end of the silver fox fastened to the rear of the kids kart to stretch it. I would use the Honda fourtrax 250 to power it. Not sure what to do with the front end yet though. I have a couple options. I could use the fourtrax 250 front end or I have a quad racer front end. I’ve even thought about just extending the kids karts A arms and using the quad racer spindles and hubs so I can run 10 inch wheels on the front instead of small little eight inch wheels. I’m gonna keep checking things out before I get to involved with it as there just ideas at the moment. Just a couple pics of what I have and am dealing with. Stay tuned for more

Good afternoon Lab-X. It’s been quite a while since I’ve posted anything do to my TKR and recovery time. I’m slowly getting better I did however have a little something jump in the back of my truck today 😂 and I’m not exactly sure what I’m gonna do with it at the moment. Might just put a new motor on it and flip it for what I can or maybe extend the frame a bit and mount my fourtrax 250 front and back on. Or I could make it stupid fast and fab up the rear end of another quad racer frame to it along with an extra quad racer front end I have. Make it where I can swap the motor to the kart or put it right back on the original quad racer. Choices, choices, and more Choices. I’ll be getting back into building something here shortly stay tuned for more. Here’s a couple pics of the new candidate.
