💥 We had a blast this week! 💥

Since late October 2024, crews have been performing rock blasting operations at the base of the large rock cut just east of Idaho Springs as part of the CDOT R1 I-70 Floyd Hill Project. This work will help straighten I-70’s curves, improving both safety and traffic flow through the area.

This week marked a major milestone—the first rock blast at the top of the rock cut! Safety is always our top priority—traffic on I-70 was briefly held during the blast, staying well within the 20-minute allowable hold time.

We’re proud to play a role in this critical infrastructure project, providing construction oversight and administrative support alongside CDOT, Kraemer North America (Prime Contractor), and Arizona Drilling and Blasting (Blaster-in-Charge).

A huge shoutout to the entire team for ensuring a safe and efficient operation! Stay tuned for more updates as we continue making progress.

🌟 Project Spotlight: Progress on the I-25 North Segment 5 Express Lane Project 🌟

Exciting progress on the I-25 North Segment 5 Express Lane CMGC Project! The completion of CP1 marks a major milestone as we wrap up the traffic switch phase, paving the way for the next stage of reconstruction.

We’re proud to provide Construction Management services that ensure the project stays on track and delivers long-term benefits to Colorado’s infrastructure.

Here's what’s been accomplished:

✅ Two New Temporary Southbound Lanes: Built to facilitate traffic flow while preparing for the reconstruction of the permanent southbound I-25 alignment in CP2.
✅ Widening Three Bridges: Enhanced infrastructure to ensure seamless transitions.
✅ Two Soil Nail Walls Added: Stabilizing the area to maintain traffic flow during upcoming construction phases.

As we move into the new year, crews will begin demolishing the existing southbound alignment to build back a better, safer interstate for the traveling public.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue making progress on this vital project for CDOT Region 4.
