We are seeking a skilled and reliable Access Control Technician to install, service, and maintain electronic access control systems, door hardware, and related security equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with low-voltage wiring, door hardware installation, and troubleshooting access control systems in commercial environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, configure, and service access control systems (card readers, keypads, maglocks, strikes, door operators, etc.)
* Run and terminate low-voltage cabling (CAT5/6, 18/2, 22/6, etc.)
* Install and align door hardware including electric strikes, magnetic locks, panic hardware, and closers
* Troubleshoot and repair system malfunctions
* Program access control panels and user credentials
* Perform system testing and quality assurance checks
* Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and system schematics
* Ensure installations meet local codes and safety regulations
* Provide professional communication with customers and site contacts
* Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle
Required Qualifications
* Experience in access control, low-voltage, or related field
* Knowledge of electronic access control systems and door hardware
* Ability to read wiring diagrams and blueprints
* Experience with basic hand tools and power tools
* Strong troubleshooting skills
* Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
* Ability to pass background check (required for secure facilities)
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with major systems (e.g., Lenel, Brivo, Avigilon, Genetec, Openpath, etc.)
* Knowledge of IP networking basics
* Lift experience
* Experience working on commercial construction sites
Physical Requirements
* Ability to lift 50+ pounds
* Ability to work on ladders and lifts
* Ability to work in various weather conditions
* Standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods
