AS OF 4/15/2026 I HAVE HAD TO INCREASE MY HOURLY RATES DUE TO THE SPIKE IN DIESEL PRICES. EXPECT A MINIMUM OF $155/HOUR, depending on how much I have to pay for fuel. ’m booking appointments for driveway grading pasture mowing in the Merit and Farmersville areas. I charge straight tractor engine clock time.

We do hay hauling for small customers! Do you have a hobby farm, or a few horses, cows, goats or sheep and no good way to haul your hay? I'll haul 5 bales at a time from the local vendor of your choice to your place and dump them with my inline hauler. We'll work out the rate together, based on $6.00/mile and Google maps route, with an $80 minimum.

I'm starting my tractor services back up. Private Message me for quotes on mowing, driveway and road grading, and general tractor work. I go by hours on the tractor engine clock, $85/hour for most work. Depending on the job and how far it is from Merit, TX, we can discuss minimum charges.

I’ve raised my rates since I originally created this page, but the principle of my hourly rates remains the same: So... you may ask "Why don't you quote by the acre?" Here's why: every piece of land is different. If I quote you by the acre, I will have to shoot your price high in order to account for the worst case scenario of mowing the entire place in 1st gear at full throttle. To me, that's not an honest price. On jobs I finish quickly, I make a lot of margin at your expense. On the bad jobs, I lose money on fuel if I quote by the acre. Tractors run at constant RPM while mowing -- the longer the job takes, the more fuel they burn. Burnt fuel is burnt money and a lower profit margin for the operator. So far, my worst case lot was 1.5 acres per hour because it was so thickly overgrown (hood-high dense weeds with underbrush), but average is 2-4 acres per hour. I run an 8ft cutter on a new 75 horse tractor. If your lot is REALLY overgrown with heavy brush I may suggest having someone with bigger equipment cut it, or to hire a land-clearing service. Either way, I'll shoot you straight.
