On our 12th anniversary, my amazing husband, Shawn, work up at 4:30am to catch a 7am flight bound for Omaha, Nebraska to work an event. He was running on 4 hours of sleep and had worked an event on Fri and Sat in DFW. When he arrived to the airport, they told him his flight had been canceled and they could get him on a flight out the next day. The problem was that his event was at 6pm that night. So he jumped in Goldie, our new-to-us church van, and started the 9 hour drive to Omaha. I emailed the client instructions for setup and Shawn arrived and was ready to go with 15 minutes to spare. The event was saved, despite the change in plans. I’d marry him all over again. 😍

What an incredible morning! Shawn and I worked with the most amazing teachers to bring Braintone Art to a group of students with special needs. I could type out a whole page of sweet moments where a child in a wheelchair who was initially hesitant beamed with pride because HE created artwork to take home, or how excited a child was to pick out her favorite snapshot to print out, but I'm going to leave you with this gem. A cute little girl with Down's Syndrome created a beautifully colorful Mood Bloom session. (She reached the highest level of focus, as you can see with the sharp shapes in the center of the brain painting.) At the end of the session, we asked her to use her finger to sign her name for her mom to see. At first, I was a little confused because her name didn't start with an 'm' but I watched as she wrote out the letters 'm-o-m' because she made this pretty painting for her mom. *melt*
