Position: Manual Machinist

Employment Type: Full-Time

Location: Creola, Alabama

Axis Welding & Machine Works, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Manual Machinist to join our precision-focused machine shop. We specialize in custom fabrication, welding, and machining for industrial clients—including industrial components, heavy equipment parts, and much more. If you take pride in accuracy, craftsmanship, and problem-solving, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
• Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, and other shop equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements
• Machine parts to tight tolerances with high attention to detail
• Inspect completed work using micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Collaborate with shop team to meet production timelines
• Perform basic equipment maintenance as needed

Qualifications
• 3+ years of manual machining experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of tooling, feeds, and speeds
• Ability to machine accurate one-off parts
• Experience with heavy industrial components is a plus
• Welding or fabrication skills a bonus (not required)
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Must be reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented
