Tehama County Photo Club We are a discussion group of North State photographers of all skill and experience levels who meet monthly. Jackson St., Red Bluff, CA.

Our Club members engage in most major categories of still photography--fine arts, nature, studio--and use many different digital camera types--DSLR, mirrorless, and point & shoot, as well as 35mm, large format, and medium format film cameras. The skill levels or our members range from beginners to advanced amateurs to working professionals. We have a tradition of the more experienced photographers

helping those with less experience. Anyone interested in photography is welcome to attend our meetings. If you are having problems taking, processing, or printing photos, bring your questions to one of our meetings. Everyone is invited to bring two or three photos for sharing. These photos are passed around and promote discussions about how they were taken, what kind of post processing and printing was used, etc. Brief History of Tehama County Photo Club

The Tehama County Photo Club was organized in June 2005 with nine local photographers* meeting in one of the member’s home. By November, the group had grown to more than 20 members and began meeting at the Family Resource Center on Sycamore Street, where they continued to meet until 2013. Today, the group meets at 6 pm on the second Tuesday of each month at the Red Bluff Community Center, 1500 S. The Club name was adopted in November 2005, and members decided that the club’s primary goal was to provide an avenue for photographers to network with each other through sharing knowledge, participating in club activities, and enjoying social interaction, or as one founder said, “look at pictures and eat snacks.”

The first club leader was Tony Maxey. When Tony stepped down in 2007, Karen Roy Crockett and Vikki Bettman stepped up to serve as leaders, and served until 2008, when Bob McConnell became club President. Bob served in that role until the end of 2015. Tony Maxey has returned to leadership; he and Bob Grace currently serve together as Club co-Presidents. Originally, Club members assisted each other with advice, demonstrations, and member-led workshops on photo techniques, along with some sharing of equipment. This has expanded to include more group shows and exhibits, field trips, and workshops given by non-members. In 2010 the Images from a Glass Eye International Photography Contest was started by founding Club members Bob Grace and Barbara Luzzadder, along with Bob McConnell. Many of our club members have exhibited in this show, and several have won prizes. Today, there are almost 300 photography enthusiasts on the club’s mailing list.

*Founding Members: Tony and Beth Maxey, Bob Grace, Melissa Mendonca, Danny and Dianne Rabalais, Barbara (and John) Luzzadder, Judi Richins, and Dave Figoni.

**The words 'Tehama County' in the club name is not intended to limit or discourage anyone from other North State counties from participating.
