GearHaul - Universal Mounting Solutions

One crushed chainsaw started all of this.

When Kenny Finley ran over his saw with a tractor, he went looking for a better way to carry it. That idea became SawHaul—and grew into GearHaul’s Kansas-built mounting systems.

Rural Connect shares the story in “The Chainsaw That Started It All,” on pages 41–42 of its Fall 2026 issue.

Thanks to Jody Love, Rural Community Partners, and writer Brett Dalton for telling it.

Pretty cool article!!!!

What does a destroyed chainsaw have to do with building a successful Kansas business? Quite a bit, actually!

Meet Kenny Finley, founder of GearHaul - Universal Mounting Solutions, a Kansas entrepreneur who turned an expensive accident into an innovative business serving customers around the world!

What started as a simple solution to safely carry a chainsaw on a tractor has grown into a Kansas-built company creating products for agriculture, construction, forestry, and more.

But what we love most about Kenny's story isn't just the innovation. It's his commitment to building relationships, listening to customers, and keeping manufacturing right here in Kansas.

As Kenny shares in the latest issue of Rural Connect:

“Once you kind of get over that step of being scared, there's no barriers after that. It's game on.”

That's the kind of entrepreneurial spirit we're proud to celebrate across rural Kansas!
