• Day 3 of National Convention •

The very last day at convention! This week has been such a great experience for us all, and we ended our last day with the 3rd general session in the morning. We listened to Claire Woeppel’s retiring address, ran through awards and some state finalists, and also listened to Donald J Trump give the National FFA a speech. We are so thankful for the opportunity to attend the National FFA Convention, and we would like to thank everyone for all of the help and support along the way, and a big thank you to Mr. Crowell and Mrs. Joiner for dealing with everyone all week!

• Day 2 of National Convention •

What a busy day! So far we have had so much fun at Convention! Today we started the morning out by attending the first general session at 8:00, where the group listened to speeches from the National FFA advisor Dr. Park, the Secretary of the USDA Brooke Rollins, and finally the keynote speaker Scott McKain. Afterwards, we went with National FFA to the Becks Hybrid Tour at their home plant. We saw their greenhouses and learned a lot about internships and careers within Becks. We got back around 4:00 so then the group went and ate dinner, then went to the ax throwing team bonder which we all loved! Tomorrow is our last day here at convention where we will only attend the morning session and then start making our way back home!

• Day 1 of National Convention •

What a great first day at Convention! We spent most of the day exploring the expo hall where we met different college’s, looked at large businesses in ag, and the girls went shopping quite a bit! After we finished up at expo in the early afternoon we headed back to the hotel and went to dinner, and then we finally headed to the rodeo. The members enjoyed today so much, and we are so excited for our full day tomorrow!

And shout out to Charlee Dugger who got to go to the “FFA Live! Newsroom Tour” because she is one out of 178 FFA in the USA Reporters!

• Ag Sales LDE •

The Ag Sales LDE was hosted by Raymond-Lincolnwood on Wednesday, September 30th. This particular leadership development event required a 4 person team to sell a specific product related to Agriculture. This year the product that was being sold was a welder, and the team had to choose which welder would be best for the customer based upon their needs. At the contest, our team had to take a paper test about agricultural sales, plan a sales call in front of judges, be in a group interview with their sales pitch, and finally individual interviews to different judges. Thank you to Charlee Dugger, Hallee Kaburick, Madeline Rosentreter, and Mary Behme for going to this contest. This team got 4th place overall!

Friday September 18 the Carlinville FFA chapter was visited by three of our section officers, and two of the major state officers including the state president, Bryer Nelson, and the state secretary, Owen Rigg. With the officers, we did some team bonding activities, and made some FFA goal cards. Thank you so much to the officers that came out, we had so much fun and learned some new teamwork skills!
