This build replaced some very well used parts, highway stability and ride quality were the goal! Without sacrificing offroad capability! The majority of the older parts had been installed by my father (Bronco owner) over the last 25 years, with me alongside, learning both in the shop and out on the trails breaking! Coils were sagging, shocks blown, double clutch np435 was due for another rebuild, and the front Rock Crusher steering was loose as a goose with 'bump steer' geometry. Using RuffStuff Specialties TRE's and 'The Cure' really tightened the steering up. Lowering the frame side trackbar mount, dropped the roll center, so the Kings could do their job. this increased flex and ride quality. The Antirock sway bar controls body roll predictably and progressively in all circumstances. Final spring rate was 200/300, and the full 12" of travel drives straight as an arrow with the updated steering geometry. Washboard roads aren't a thing anymore, and it's quite tempting to push it harder without the fear of losing control. A much more controlled ride at higher speeds, easy shifts, and the old man's ambition to keep trail riding, makes a project like this a blessing in the work! Hope to see you out on the trail when we break it in next summer!
