⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Another 5-star review from a customer who chose engineered protection over improvisation.

Homemade running covers aren't built to withstand the elements, protect against fire risks, and keep your generator dry all while allowing the proper airflow and exhaust your generator needs to operate correctly.

GenTent is the engineered solution that checks all the boxes.

🔥 Help reduce fire risk

🌧️ Keep critical areas protected from wet weather

💨 Maintain proper airflow

♨️ Allow safe exhaust clearance

⚡ Support reliable generator operation

Cheap covers with big claims are everywhere. But are they built to be around a hot, running generator?

☔Keeping rain off is only part of the job.

Before choosing a running cover, look beyond marketing claims and ask what the materials are actually rated for around hot generator components and
exhaust.

🔥 NFPA 701-rated canopy materials

🛡️ UL 94 V-0-rated components

🌧️ Engineered for wet-weather operation

GenTent has invested years in testing, material safety, and helping advance new consumer safety standards for generator running covers.

Because weather protection should never create another hazard.

🚨 Gulf Coast: today is the day to finish storm preparations.

Hurricane Isaias is strengthening, and officials are urging residents in warning areas to complete preparations for damaging winds and dangerous storm surge.

If a portable generator is part of your backup power plan, prepare it BEFORE the outage:

🏠 Choose a safe outdoor location at least 20 feet from your home
💨 Point exhaust away from doors, windows, vents, and people
🚨 Test your carbon monoxide alarms
⚡ Inspect outdoor-rated cords and test your generator
⛽ Have the correct fuel ready and refuel only after the generator has cooled
🌧️ Plan now for how your generator will stay protected outdoors in severe weather

Most importantly, follow evacuation orders and guidance from local emergency officials and the National Hurricane Center.

Preparedness is not about panic. It is about making the safe choice before the storm makes choices harder.

🔥 Generator safety starts before you ever pull the cord.
Anytime you operate a portable generator:

📏 Keep it outdoors and at least 20 feet from doors, windows,
and vents
🏠 Never run it in an attached garage, even with the door open
💨 Point exhaust away from the home
🚨 Make sure working CO alarms are installed inside
⛽ Never refuel a hot generator

And always read and follow your generator manufacturer’s instructions before operation.

Safe placement and safe operating practices can help reduce the risk of fire, carbon monoxide exposure, and electrical hazards.

🔥 National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Fire Prevention Week is a good time to take another look at your generator safety plan.

📏 Are you running it far enough away from your home? How about flammable materials? Not every generator running cover is made with flame-retardant materials. Around a hot, operating generator that can exceed 1300° F temperatures, it's a risk not worth taking.

UL 2201A is being developed to create a clear, consistent flammability safety benchmark for generator tents and running covers, helping consumers distinguish tested protection from unsupported claims.

GenTent is already built around independently tested fire safety materials:

🔥 NFPA 701-rated canopy
🛡️ UL 94 V-0-rated components
🔩 Steel and aluminum Universal Clamp hardware

Weather protection should never introduce another hazard.
