Day at the office around here is a lot of things…. Logging, milling, ranching, farming, feeding and lots of fixin’! 🔧🌾

Along the way we pause to appreciate nature’s wonders…. from honey bees 🍯🐝, to our farm pets 🐄🐾, to those amazing Texas sunsets 🌅🤠.

Grateful for them all! ❤️

We chose this profession in part because of our appreciation for all things in nature…. working in harmony with it, not against it.

Harvesting trees that have died naturally is a great way to “repurpose” what the woods and fields have to offer with minimal waste and intrusion. These logs are Texas treasures and will produce some of the most beautiful hardwoods you’ll find.

No burn piles for these post oaks…. Now let’s start milling something amazing!!!🪵✨

Homeowners love the look of solid post oak beams with all the knots and twisted tight-grained swirls.   Rustic character is a guarantee.

Stylistically, there is still a choice to consider…. Square-edged or bullnosed corners.  Sharp 90-degree edges give a clean, consistent look.   Natural-edged or bullnosed corners provide a more rustic, old-world appeal.   Both options provide unique features visually and incredible support structurally.

Whether it’s pushing, pulling or plowing through the woods, our skid steer gets a real workout while logging.  Fondly referred to as OC (Orange Crush), this Kubota SVL97 does the heavy lifting, literally, all day long.   

Harvesting dead-standing post oaks and eastern red cedars is not for everyone, but we love this work!!!

From woods, to haul trailer to mill,  these trees are treasures to us and logging is where it all begins!
