Brush 7 was built, not bought.
When the North Marshall Fire Department in Britton, South Dakota needed a second wildland engine, they didn't order a finished truck. They ordered a Ford F-550 chassis and spent four months building exactly what they wanted locally, and funded entirely through donations so it never touched the local tax base.
The result is a Type 6 wildland engine with four-wheel drive, two hose reels, and hose lines maneuverable enough to reach places a full-size engine can't go. Compact enough for rough terrain. Set up to fight fire while moving.
Every storage decision on Brush 7 was made by someone who'd be reaching into it at 2 a.m. on a grass fire. American Truckboxes LLC (ATB) boxes were chosen on those terms, and that's the kind of selection we'll take every time.
Thank you to Chief Nate Dinger, Tyler Cape, Brett Hockenbrock, and the whole North Marshall crew for trusting American Truckboxes on this build. Stay safe out there.
