Goby Walnut has one of the largest selections of Black Walnut Lumber available in North America. Our walnut lumber is known by many names: Black Walnut, Oregon Black Walnut, Claro Walnut, and Western Walnut. In reality, our Walnut is a hybrid of Juglans Nigra and Juglans Hindsii and is commonly referred to as “Claro Walnut”. All of our walnut lumber is salvage or hazard wood and is eco-friendly. G

Oregon's Urban Tree Problem doesn't stem from the tree, but what happens to it when it comes down. So much history and beauty being tossed in the wood chipper was devastating to watch. We broke multiple blades milling this 12 foot Oregon Black Walnut log. It's not always smooth sailing on the sawmill. Sometimes it's a lodged rock or a bullet that can snap the blade. These things can happen when working with urban and salvaged trees, which is why we take it slow and steady on our mill.
