Customer asked me if I could repair this old lawn chair. This lawn chair wasn’t just any old lawn chair. It was his grandmothers chair that he wanted me to repair so he could give to his father. Now normally I would turn this type of job down and honestly I did at first because I thought it was the cheap thin Chinese steel that’s not worth fixing. Later he would ask me again if I would fix it because every one else he asked didn’t want to take the job. So I told him to drop it off and I would take a look at it to see what I can do.
To my surprise it was actually built really well at a time when we built stuff made to last. The steel was actually thick wall tube and made repair much easier. Took the time to bend up new matching legs with inserts to make the weld area stronger. Should hold for many more years to come.
