Our Chart team was proud to participate in the first high-level liquid hydrogen roundtable at the World Hydrogen Summit in Rotterdam alongside industry leaders and infrastructure operators focused on shaping Europe’s energy future.
The discussion reinforced the important role liquid hydrogen (LH2) can play in strengthening energy security, supporting industrial resilience, and accelerating decarbonization across heavy transport and industry. Participants emphasized the need for continued collaboration, infrastructure investment, and harmonized regulation to help scale deployment across Europe.
As Salah Mahdy, Global Director of Hydrogen at Chart, shared: “At Chart, we bring decades of cryogenic expertise to enable safe, efficient, and scalable liquid hydrogen (LH2) infrastructure – from liquefaction and storage to transport. With these technologies now reaching a high level of maturity and efficiency, liquid hydrogen stands out as a strategic enabler of Europe’s long-term energy security and industrial resilience. To fully realize this potential, however, Europe must act with unity and determination, and it was very encouraging to see high attendance and strong conviction at this event.”
