It's very satisfying seeing a unique design being filled in and brought to life on a piece of beautifully grained wood. This is at 8X speed. Happy very special 90th birthday Mr. Jorge!

This stunningly beautiful fantasy artwork is a recreation of "Sunrise Water Nymphs" 1920, by Arthur Prince Spear. It depicts three beautiful water nymphs lifting the sun up to the surface of a body of water, ready for sunrise and the beginning of a new day. It is painted on an 18"x24" canvas with fluorescent colors (although you can't really tell that in the photo). However the real surprise comes when you turn out the lights or turn on a blacklight, because the entire scene glows brightly and brilliantly thanks to the premium glow powder that I used.

This particular canvas is a test piece for Molten Earth Designs. I am planning to offer a selection of neon-glow artwork like this for sale in the near future. If you have a particular piece of artwork that you'd be interested in purchasing done in this style please feel free to reach out, and if you have any artwork ideas that you think would look cool fluorescent / glowing then leave a comment below. If you want to buy this canvas, it is for sale. Send me a DM. Thanks!

Woot! I made my booth sign for the Metal Makers Market! In case you didn't see my post yesterday, Molten Earth Designs will be one of the vendors at the Metal Makers Market this Saturday! I'll have a few items for sale in my booth, be giving away free Halloween candy from my trick-or-treat pail, and lasering custom items for you while you wait with my portable laser! This will be my first market event, so feel free to drop by to say, "Hi!" and enjoy a delicious craft brew and good music at Little Cottage Brewery! 😊

Hi friends! Are you acquainted with the "Fugio Cent" also referred to as the "Franklin Cent"? Believe it or not, this was the first official U.S. circulation coin, designed by Benjamin Franklin. You are reading correctly, it was minted way back in 1787! Surprisingly, these do still exist, and are very collectible. Franklin was known for giving good advice in his Poor Richard's Almanac, and he even gives us a bit of good advice here, "Mind Your Business" something that is just as true today as ever. I just think these are some of the coolest and most unique coins ever produced. I love the vintage look, how the design was skillfully hand made, and just an overall beautiful and unique piece of art and history.

You might've noticed that these two examples here look a bit different from one another, primarily size. That is because these are not actual Fugio Cents from 1787, but are in fact copper pieces that I lasered just yesterday! These are a couple of test pieces that I produced for Molten Earth Designs.

I'm thinking that these could make great conversation starters, coasters, or wall art! I can produce these from actual size (small) all the way up to 22" in diameter. Note that I am using real copper here, and despite the appearance of depth there isn't any significant depth to the engraving.

What do you think? Got any other good ideas for ways to apply this technique?

My very important client (my 5 year old son) is currently obsessed with Lamborghini super cars. So, he asked me to make a special hood emblem.

He is also fully convinced that a "Lambo" is a completely different type of super car that is faster than a Lamborghini, despite being informed several times that "Lambo" is just a nickname for a Lamborghini...

Project Specification: The emblem should look just like the Lamborghini logo, in yellow and black, but it should say "LAMBO" instead. It should feature an exclamation point to let everyone know how fast it is. (He writes everything that is important to him with an exclamation point)

I am very excited to present him with his bespoke, custom-made, one-of-a-kind emblem today!

This is the attention to detail and commitment to quality that I give to all my clients. It starts with me listening to your ideas and seeing your vision, and it ends with you holding a unique bespoke item straight out of your imagination. I have the tools and the skills. What can I create for you today?

Working on a medium 16"x10" wood engraving on birch ply with my new CNC laser. Anyone else a fan of "The Great Wave off Kanagawa" by Hokusai? It's one of my all time favorite iconic pieces of artwork!

Guys, I'm starting a business called Molten Earth Designs. Here is a link to my FB business page.
https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61560506882144&mibextid=kFxxJD

I'm building this all from scratch so there isn't much on my page yet, but please go ahead and give it a follow if you're interested. I've got a website and Instagram in the works also. I'll have more announcements in the coming weeks as I get rolling. I'll be populating my online store with new products (including a couple of very unique variations of "The Great Wave" and some other iconic works of art) so stay tuned for that!

My laser is a powerful 40W unit with a max bed area of 34"x18" so I can cut/engrave some pretty large pieces of wood, steel, stainless, glass, some acrylic, leather, etc. I also have the ruby laser head for engraving incredibly fine detail on virtually any type of jewelry or metal.

If you have an idea for a custom piece of artwork please let me know and we can create something truly unique just for you and your space! I'm also happy to take on jobs for promotional merch, wedding gifts, business cards, etc. I can do all the typical stuff such as coasters and drink tumblers too if that's your thing.

Besides lasering I've also got a ton of other design and shop capabilities including welding, plasma cutting, small mill and lathe, sheet metal forming, airbrushing, polishing, etc. Not to mention 20 years of CAD design and 15 years of mechanical engineering experience that I can put to work for you.

Thanks!
-Andy
