We took this from museum piece to a running engine

The **experimental canted valve heads** for the DZ302 Chevy small block are a fascinating piece of automotive history! Developed in 1968 for Trans Am racing, these innovative heads were tested to produce around **450 HP**, with even more potential when track-ready. Chevy recognized the benefits of this design, inspired by the success of the MkIV big block. The inclusion of a **Cross-Ram intake** on the prototype showcased their commitment to performance innovation. Unfortunately, this promising project never made it into production, leaving enthusiasts to wonder what might have been. The canted valve design represents a unique chapter in Chevy’s racing heritage, highlighting their quest for speed and efficiency.
