A new beta 3.06 version of the STC-1200 locator firmware, with extended vari-speed tone stepping, is available on the website. Note this is only for machines equipped with the DRC wired remote, the STC locator and the vari-speed SMPTE daughter card. Refer to the README.TXT file in the zip archive for details of this release.

Hi resolution shot of the new DI-1256 direct instrument preamplifier. We hope to start shipping the first units in the next few weeks. It's been a long road getting this design tweaked and completed, every detail was considered, this is no ordinary 500 Series module. Our goal was to make one of the best DI recording modules possible, using modern parts, at a price point that won't crush your piggy bank. The new DI-1256 is coming finally together! A great amount of effort has gone into the design, development and testing of this new direct instrument preamplifier. Although it was primarily designed to work great for direct bass recording, it also works great with electric guitar. Look around and you'll see very few 500 series modules solely dedicated for DI use. The DI-1256 is also packed with features to tailor and shape the instruments sound and tone. The DI-1256 is not a mic preamp, it's a completely new 500 series module specifically designed for direct instrument recording!

We hope to be begin building the initial production units in 3-4 weeks. We are still waiting on a couple parts from suppliers, but hope to have these in the next few weeks. Keep in touch over the new few weeks and we'll have more information soon!

We still get the occasional special build order for our DRC-1200 tape machine wired remote. This unit is headed to Quiet Please Recording in WA for use with their Ampex MM1200, which is fully equipped with our DTC transport controller and STC locator cards. Our DRC remote and the STC locator cards were real game changers for these machines.
