It is healthy to create financial security for Yourself, an African mechanic!!!
Be reminded that creating a financial cushion is a process and it depends on which type of spending You choose,like I detailed the 3 spending ways in My book Garage to Glory where some patterns of spending enable You to easily create financial security while others create little or no financial security! It is a matter of choice!!

Let Me briefly take You through the 3 Spending ways mechanics usually take;

1. Pipe line way of spending.
This spending pattern is where a mechanic's income continously flows to his expenses leaving little or no savings.

When You do not have savings therefore no financial security hence causing You to be vulnerable to emergency expenses that usually happen in life.

2.Inverted Funnel Way of Spending .
This spending way is characterised by allocating a significant portion of income to savings and investments, leaving a small amount to Your needs and immediate expenses.

This kind of spending enables You to create financial security fast but it requires some sacrifice and strict budgeting.

3. The Well Fitted Funnel Way of spending.
Here a mechanic allocates a portion of his income to savings and investments but also leaving enough for his needs and immediate expenses.

This pattern of spending strikes a balance between the pipe line way and the inverted funnel way of spending, where You can create financial cushion and have a pleasant life in the present.

In conclusion, Understanding these 3 Spending Patterns and adopting the most suitable approach for Your financial situation can help You secure a financial future both in and out of Your workshop.

LOOK BEYOND FIXING VEHICLES.
Like I usually say,the role played by mechanics especially in Uganda and in most African countries where We rely mostly on old vehicles for transportation, it goes beyond just fixing vehicles to enable the transportation system properly functioning;

Mechanics play a big role in contributing to reduce the rate at which road accidents happen in Uganda through ensuring critical components of vehicles like brakes and tyres are in proper working conditions so while working to achieve the goal of safer road use in Uganda and other African countries at large ,You should include mechanics as well for example support them through trainings that teach them how to deliver quality repairs.

Look beyond just fixing vehicles
