The Importance and Economical Section of a Plinth Beam in Building Construction
In structural construction, one of the key elements that is often overlooked but critically important is the plinth beam. It plays both a structural and economic role in ensuring the stability and durability of a building.

A commonly used economical section is 225mm (width) ร 300mm (depth). This size provides sufficient strength for low-rise buildings without unnecessary material use. However, this should be verified by a structural engineer depending on the load and site condition.

Using reusable and properly supported formwork can reduce cost and improve beam shape, leading to smoother construction.
