✅ General Drone Regulations in Turkey
Registration with SHGM (Turkish Civil Aviation Authority):
All drones weighing 500 grams or more must be registered with SHGM.
Registration is completed via the online platform: iha.shgm.gov.tr.
Remote Pilot License (IHA Certificate):
For commercial use, a certified license is mandatory.
IHA-1 for drones between 500g – 25kg
IHA-2 for drones over 25kg
Recreational pilots are encouraged to complete basic training as well.
Flight Permits and No-Fly Zones:
Flights in city centers, crowded areas, military zones, and near airports require prior flight approval.
Users must check current NOTAMs and restricted airspace maps through SHGM systems.
Maximum Flight Altitude:
Drones are limited to a maximum altitude of 120 meters (400 feet).
All operations must be within the pilot’s visual line of sight (VLOS).
