Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, is 28 years old and has more than 500 million subscribers on YouTube. He could spend his fortune on any whim he wanted. Instead, he used it to build an entire village in Ghana’s Eastern Region.

It’s called Abna Dakwa Village, and it came to life after a year of planning and eight months of construction. It has a school for more than 300 students, ten homes for teachers, a medical clinic, clean water, solar power, and a community market. Everything was designed to ensure that families who currently depend on cocoa farming no longer have to send their children to work on the plantations.

The investment totaled around $10 million, and it wasn’t an isolated gesture: his foundation, Beast Philanthropy, is already working in 11 cocoa-growing communities in the area and has signed a partnership with The Rockefeller Foundation to provide free school meals for five years in Ghana and Kenya. In the process, MrBeast took direct aim at major chocolate companies for allowing this exploitation to continue within their supply chains.
