Entropy Pedal is a true laboratory of experimental, creative, and unconventional approaches to shaping noise, sound, and guitar tone!

The special Chaotic section lets you use the built‑in oscillator‑type generator and apply three different character modes (Noise / Drone / FM). In this example, the engaged analog octave is combined with the Drone mode set to a stable, tuned high note in the main key. This produces a ring modulation effect along with a stable sonic background. Cool stuff!

Adjusting input volume or blend control steers the result towards chaotic, noise‑driven modulations or calmer, gentle ones.

Now, let's talk about the Chaotic state, its features, and the conceptual/technical ideas behind the new Entropy Pedal!

The Chaotic State unleashes aggressive sonic chaos, transforming your signal into powerful octave fuzz, FM modulation, ring modulation, drone, or a full-on wall of noise.

| Noise Section & Chaotic State |
Activating the Chaos Button introduces a dedicated modulator into the circuit, powered by a tunable oscillator and noise generator.
• Drone Mode: Generates a steady tone at a base frequency, adjustable via the FQ (Frequency) control. It allows for both a stable background hum and resonant tonal surges when the frequency is manually shifted.
• Noise Mode: Adds modulated white noise to the base frequency, forming dense and massive textured soundscapes that can be further twisted and warped using the same frequency control.
• FM Mode: Processes the input signal through complex oscillator transformations, generating radical synthetic timbres that still depend on the set base frequency.
• The BLEND control allows you to mix the modulator-processed signal either at the beginning or the end of the chain (switched via the ROUT toggle). This lets you subtly introduce noise components or completely override the original sound with generated textures.

| True Circuit Isolation & Integration |
Unlike unstable experimental pedals, Entropy achieves perfect functional integration through carefully isolated circuits for Drive and Noise generation. Each has its own wide gain range and unique dynamics, ensuring total stability and predictable interaction.

Let’s dive deeper into the IDLE state and the conceptual/technical approaches of the new Entropy Pedal!

The Idle State focuses on clean and predictable modes such as compressed clean, overdrive, fuzz, or smooth octave drive. Here, the pedal functions as a good discrete amplifier capable of transitioning into overdrive, distortion, and fuzz. The tonal range is exceptionally wide, varying from compressed, almost-clean tones and smooth overdrive to powerful distortion and rich fuzz.

| Drive Section & IDLE State |

• Natural JFET/BJT Clipping: The DRIVE section is a high-grade discrete amplifier capable of reaching deep saturation by combining the best of JFET and BJT technologies. The JFET delivers initial gain and tube-like compression, while the BJT acts as a mid-booster and additional saturator. Together, they can replicate the sound and feel of powerful tube amps and big air compression.
• Self-Adjusting Octave-Up: Our custom circuit activates additional gain stages and fine-tunes parameters via switching components for flawless octave tracking. The resulting tone ranges from a smooth, articulate clean octave to an aggressive, splitting octave fuzz.
• Mid Control: In the middle of this section sits a frequency booster that simultaneously enhances both lows and highs. This results in a powerful low-end "roar" combined with a pronounced high-end presence, creating a distinct scooped-mid effect.
