Here is a guide for engine health. Here are the four types explained:
Black Soot Smoke: Indicates a rich fuel mixture. This means there is too much fuel and not enough air in the combustion chamber, often caused by faulty oxygen sensors or clogged fuel injectors.
Electric Blue Smoke: A clear sign that the engine is burning oil. This usually happens when internal components, like piston rings or valve seals, are worn out, allowing oil to leak into the combustion chamber.
Bright White Smoke: Typically represents a coolant leak. This is often the result of a damaged head gasket, allowing coolant to enter the cylinders and turn into thick steam.
Rich Orange/Rusty Smoke: Pointing toward a clogged PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) valve. This disrupts the engine’s ability to vent gases, leading to improper combustion and potential sludge buildup.
