I have very recently completed a Motorbike Matriculation, I used Castelo Branco IMT office and Covilha customs office.
Apparently I shoud have used Santarem IMT as its more local for me but hey ho it worked anyway.
For anyone interested the main issue for anyone bringing a Motorbike or Vehicle into Portugal is the Certificate of Conformity (coc), this little piece of paper if you can get hold of it is very important and will save you a lot of time and money.
The (coc) holds you Homologation number that proves your vehicle is within certain standards and should be ok to import into any European country incuding Portugal.
BE AWARE, there are crooks out there that will try to sell you a piece of paper saying it is the (coc) when in fact only a proper registered company or the manufacturer dealer can obtain the (coc) for you.
My advise would be, if you cant find this document then ring your car / bike dealer as they will most likely have someone who can obtain this for you (at a price).
Note: If you cannot obtain the (coc) you can still import your vehicle or Motorbike with original documents, also you will almost certainly need a Noise test for a Motorbike, and most likely an inspection of your car.
