In this study computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis of an Ahmed body has been carried out and studied. Ahmed body is a simplified car body and the CFD flow field around the Ahmed body demonstrates the flow characteristics around an automobile. This study comprises of three different slant angles of an Ahmed body, 0, 15 and 30 degrees respectively. 0 and 15 degree angle demonstrates the flow at steady state, whereas 30 degree demonstrates the transient state. The geometry for all three slant angles was created and then mesh was generated using Ansys software. The 3D mesh was then analyzed and studied by the Ansys fluent and the graphs for the scaled residual, lift and drag coefficients along with the velocity and pressure contours was analyzed along with the turbulence kinetic energy for the transient state 30 degree slant angle.
