Fire Protection Is Not Just Installation — It’s a Continuous Responsibility.

A fire protection system is only effective when it is properly inspected, tested, and maintained by trained professionals.

Regular Inspection, Testing & Maintenance (ITM) helps identify system deficiencies before they become critical during an emergency.

At ZETCON COMPANY, we provide professional fire protection services including Fire Alarm, Firefighting, Sprinkler, Hydrant, Fire Pump and Clean Agent Suppression Systems.

Manual Call Point (MCP) Placement as per NFPA 72

Ensuring proper placement of Manual Call Points is critical for effective emergency response.

📌 Key Requirement:
Maximum travel distance must not exceed 200 ft (≈ 61 m)

✅ Install near exits
✅ Along escape routes
✅ At each exit discharge
✅ Ensure visibility & accessibility

⚠️ Always measure along the actual walking path.
⚠️ High-risk areas may require shorter distances.

At ZETCON, we ensure full compliance with international standards for reliable fire protection systems.

🔥 Room Integrity Testing Successfully Completed

ZETCON COMPANY (SMC-PVT) LTD performed Room Integrity Testing (Door Fan Test) in accordance with NFPA 2001 standards to verify the performance of a Clean Agent Fire Suppression System.

Using Retrotec professional testing equipment, our team ensured that the protected enclosure can maintain the required agent concentration during a fire emergency.

This testing is essential for ensuring effective fire suppression and system reliability in mission-critical facilities.

🔥 Is Your Fire Suppression System a False Sense of Security?

We often see a dangerous trend: the installation of Fire Suppression Systems (Clean Agent like FM200, Novec, etc.) where corners are cut, putting millions in assets and lives at risk. If your system isn't installed strictly as per NFPA 2001, your investment might be completely ineffective when a fire breaks out.

Here are the two biggest mistakes we observe locally that violate NFPA standards:

🚫 1. The Wrong Type of Fittings (A Recipe for Disaster)
A huge number of contractors use substandard or incorrect fittings to save costs. This is a direct violation of NFPA 2001.

· The Violation: Using Class 150 or cast iron fittings, which are prohibited .
· The NFPA Requirement:
· For pipes 3-inch and smaller: You must use Class 300/400 malleable (ductile) iron or Forged Steel.
· For pipes larger than 3-inch: Forged steel fittings are mandatory.
· Using the wrong fitting risks a catastrophic burst when the system pressurizes, meaning the agent never reaches the fire.

🚫 2. Ignoring "Enclosure Integrity" (The Agent Leaks Out!)
You can have the best cylinders and piping, but if the room isn't sealed, the gas will leak out before it can extinguish the fire.

· The Violation: Not conducting a proper Door Fan Test or sealing un-closable openings.
· The Requirement: NFPA 2001 requires the enclosure to hold the agent concentration for a specific time (usually 10 minutes) to soak the fire and prevent re-ignition. If you have open louvers, unsealed cable trays, or automatic dampers that don't close, the gas simply disappears. You are paying to air-condition the atmosphere!

⚠️ The Result of Ignoring NFPA Guidelines:
If you neglect these rules, you aren't just violating the code; you are ensuring that your expensive system will fail when needed most . Don't let unauthorized parts or poor workmanship void your safety .

If you are unsure whether your current FM200 or Novec system is actually compliant—or if you want to report a problematic installation you've seen—let our team help.

We provide integrity testing and code-compliant retrofits across Pakistan. Don't wait for a burst pipe or a failed discharge to find out your system was just for show.
