Another milestone of success and celebration of sweet-hard-won achievement.
To our CEO, Congratulations on your conferment as ASEAN Engineer, Engr. Simon Peter Gemora
What is an ASEAN ENGINEER?
An ASEAN Engineer (AER) is a recognized professional who has achieved excellence in engineering practice, leadership, and ethical responsibility across the ten member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). It is a symbol of technical mastery, professional integrity, and international recognition. This distinction signifies that the engineer meets the highest standards of competence comparable to global accords such as the Washington, Sydney, and Dublin Accords — reflecting parity with international engineering qualifications.
How does one become an ASEAN Engineer?
Becoming an AER involves a rigorous evaluation process conducted under the auspices of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organizations (AFEO) and the Philippine Technological Council (PTC). Candidates must demonstrate:
1. Academic Excellence – a degree from a recognized engineering institution aligned with international accreditation frameworks.
2. Professional Experience – at least seven (7) years of significant engineering practice demonstrating responsibility, leadership, and innovation.
3. Ethical Standards and Continuous Learning – commitment to lifelong learning, sustainable development, and adherence to professional codes of conduct.
4. Peer Recognition – endorsement by accredited professional organizations and validation by national engineering institutions.
Why is the ASEAN Engineer title prestigious?
The ASEAN Engineer Registration represents the pinnacle of regional engineering excellence. It bridges nations through shared values of innovation, sustainability, and cross-border collaboration. The title grants professionals mobility within ASEAN countries, enhances credibility in global markets, and positions them as trusted assets in multinational corporations, government institutions, and academia. Holding the AER title means being part of a prestigious community of thought leaders and changemakers who shape the region’s industrial and technological landscape.
The Prestige and Legacy
Since its inception in the early 1980s, the ASEAN Engineer Registry has honored individuals whose technical expertise, leadership, and ethical vision contribute not only to national progress but also to regional integration and global competitiveness. Today, ASEAN Engineers stand as architects of sustainable development, innovation, and inclusive growth — embodying the spirit of unity and excellence that defines the ASEAN identity.
Through the years, the CAFEO (Conference of ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organizations) has become the platform for celebrating these achievements — showcasing the synergy between nations, the brilliance of the human mind, and the transformative power of engineering.
At CAFEO 43 held at SMX Convention Center, Clark, EPM & Associates – PCU Graduate School proudly honors its distinguished alumni who now belong to this elite circle of ASEAN Engineers. Their recognition reaffirms the mission of PCU to produce leaders and innovators who bring Filipino excellence to the global stage.
Truly, the making of an ASEAN Engineer is not just a title — it is a lifelong journey of passion and purpose.
