JUST IN: DOE Amends EV Recognition Guidelines to Harmonize EV Classification

The DOE has issued Department Circular No. DC2025-09-0015 on 04 September 2025, amending the EV Recognition Guidelines under DC2023-05-0012.

The circular introduces a clearer and harmonized EV classification system that includes emerging EV technologies, updated application fees, and revised procedures and requirements to streamline processes through integration with VFELP. This supports the DOE’s goal to create a more organized, accessible, and future-ready EV market consistent with the EVIDA and CREVI.
