‼️A message on behalf..
Good afternoon. On Tuesday this week (26th May) my Seahorse Kontiki got snagged on the little reef just north of Tiakitai Rd, about 400-500 metres offshore. It’s still there and if anyone has a small boat or JetSki and is willing to recover it for me, I’m willing to pay $100 as a recovery reward.
Please message the club if you can help 🙏🏼

MEET THE TEAM - Zach Glenny
Zach is the youngest of our team, bringing enthusiasm and fresh ideas to the fold!

For Zach, Waimārama has been part of life since the early 1990s, when his grandparents owned a bare section on Harper Road. What started as family holidays soon turned into a lifelong passion for the beach, with surfing and fishing drawing him back year after year.

Zach joined the Waimārama Marine Club committee at the start of last season, with a strong desire to help reignite the club’s fishing competitions – especially for more kids to get involved in fishing. Having grown up fishing the Clifton competitions with his dad, he wanted his own children Mason & Ava to experience the same lifelong memories and a love for the ocean, as he has.

Some of Zach’s most memorable catches include Southern Bluefin Tuna off Waihau Bay, but landing a Blue Marlin in Rarotonga remains hard to top!

Family is at the heart of Zach’s Waimārama life. Their bach is often packed with his own family, plus his parents and sister’s family (the Reay family are also well known members!) This busy family-focus extends to club competitions, with Zachs wife Monica and Sister Karla as our wonderful bar team volunteers, with the family often pitching in for clean up and bar restock.

Away from the beach, Zach works for Unison as a Linemen Foreman, with a busy and exhaustive schedule - so you’ve got him to thank when power is restored after storms or lines are down!

Just incase he’s not busy enough over Summer, Zach can also be found at the track racing the 47B Superstock out of Meeanee Speedway – a balancing act to juggle beach life with track meets!

If any club members are going out fishing this week, and able to pick up 2 pots, please can you get in touch?!🙏
