Archway Group | The Nutrient Containment Specialists | Hardworking Good Buggers

Dairy Effluent Systems| Feedpads & Standoff Pads | Silage bunkers | Feed & Fert Bunkers

Engineered Precast Concrete Panels and installtion for Rural Infrastructure. Archway Group are nutrient containment specialists that develops and produces the Archway Weeping Wall System and the Tri Block Bulk Storage Solutions.

Production is targeted at 50 Weeping Walls this year in the BOP/ Waikato alone, with Taranaki, Manawatu and Northland in our sights. FDE Weeping Walls are the only modular, passive, non-mechanical solids separation system available to dairy farmers. A weeping wall enables the solids content to be removed from effluent, allowing farmers more storage capacity for liquid effluent, which in turn lowers application rates to paddocks. In addition, Archway has designed the Tri Block, a modular system for storing feed where large machinery is used for compaction. The unique design allows an additional bunker to be built alongside it and wall panels can be bolted to the original Tri Block. This can be a huge saving to farmers when building additional bunkers. Amanda runs a tight ship in the Te Puke head office, overseeing accounts, marketing, budget and wages for all ten employees. Matt is the face of the business. It’s important for us to finish one job at a time to reduce callbacks and ensure absolute quality. We’re fast now too - our first job took us eight weeks, now it only takes us five days.'

Competition in this industry can be tough, but Archway ensures communication with clients is key. ‘We get a testimonial from every single customer, and every new potential customer gets a list of people that we have worked for in the past and they go and talk to them about their system and how they differ slightly - they get to find out for themselves!’ We also hold several open days a year where farmers can come in and talk to the farmers and the professionals about their system. It seems there’s no stopping these two. ‘We are both pretty committed to what we do, and we love the fact that we are an awesome husband and wife team.

So good to have the lads back in the yard for a couple of beers on Friday. Not quite a full contingent here but they have been all over the countryside doing the mahi to make sure everything's all tidy before calving starts. This week they did a weeping wall in Otorohanga opposite the Swap Quarry. For the next two weeks they're in an around Whakatane for three different jobs there

Roof ready in Piopio they should take a few weeks and then we back for floodwash tanks, gates pipe railing, water to the top rail, and all the final touches which will be a couple more days on site for us. We have already measured everything for the custom gates so we just chip away with these so they are ready for install. When we are done, have welded everything out, the rubber mat goes down & sparky sorts out all the pumps and electrical and she's good to go. **ers

Double Drystore Bunker - 30t each side of you push up you can get more like 40-50t. Means trucks can come when you aren't there, tip off and shut the lid when it's raining and you have nothing that's not under cover. 2.5 days install time on farm for these all the magic happens before we get to farm back at Archway Groups HQ **ers

Ngutunui, Otorohanga coming along good with the Aztech Buildingsroof nearly there built by Maple Construction & Agriculture. Once the roof is on we come back into do all the finishing work - gates, railing, reticulated water rail, troughs etc. this weeks job is getting the Double Drystore Bunker in sized for truck and trailer load each side under the one roof. Concrete booked for tomorrow 27m3 for this along side concrete for Piopio for the top apron of the feedpad there.

She's all go and very conscious of winter looming so if your planning on doing something this coming season a great time is to start planning now so you get it done early in the season. Consent for the roof takes longer than you think especially with Xmas holidays in there and you want to pin down your earthworks contractor to get the site done and ready as rain is a big hold up for sure.

Our Drystore bunkers are a clever design with the roof using the same purlin as the roof on the pad. Nice rolled edges, birds can't perch. The wheel tracks are top and bottom of wheel, and there's no where for feed to accumulate. We also have an adjustable washer system which means when the roof gets knock or gets out of plumb it's easily adjusted back in just by watching our new YouTube videos!

3am start for a Fridays. Thanks boys your all a bunch of legends. 25000l Floodwash tank arriving next week to clean this main farm race, bloody dreamy. You can't see in this picture but towards the cowshed there's are precast trafficable channel that collects the floodwash when it's installed and directed into an existing stonetrap system 🤙
It's been a big week for the boys some r&r required this weekend! 🍻☀️🥾

Looking mint in Piopio today. Boys are on the ball pouring 120m3 here, then shooting up to Karaka this arvo for a 3am start to pour another 130m3-ish concrete race into the cowshed. Team are going awesome.

Everyone always wonders how we do it with the boys when they stay away a lot, and we get asked quite a bit about how we structure our pay and allowances system. We’re pretty open about it because it’s worked really well for us and the boys over the years. If you want to know more reach out happy to chat.

Probably better than a lot of FIFO setups to be honest, and it’s one of the reasons we’ve got such a solid crew of hardworking good bu**ers. **ers

It's heavy it's got a a big plaining area it's got a pitched cutting edge on the front for cutting and filling, dirt collects within the leveling bar not behind the tractor into all mechanics. It's two Hydrolic rams to adjust the angle for cutting. Matt's made this leveling bar modified his way after years of using other people's. It's had its work cut out for it already. It's on. He's a clever bu**er that Matt always making something better!
