🏆 No doubt everyone is coming down from a post-prizegiving high - huge thanks to everyone who was involved in making Saturday an awesome celebration of our 2026 season!

This week we also want to celebrate the achievements of two of our ex-players - which, in this post's photo, you can see smiling with their awards from our 2021 Prizegiving alongside their coach, and All Stars Boss MJames Collins

In 2021 - Ōmokoroa FC worked with Martin Collins and the All-Stars Football Academy to create the Ōmokoroa All Stars FA. This team was an absolute monster - with Martin's crew (a mixture of girls and boys!) ripping through local teams every weekend.

Leo and Kyle were two of the hardest-working players in that group, and they have since gone on to do some pretty special things!

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Leo Robbins, who played with us from Grade 8, has moved to Scotland and recently signed his first professional club contract with Sauchie Juniors Football Club.

🇳🇿Kyle Koch spent three great years with us as part of our collaboration with All Stars FA, and now plies his trade with the Wellington Phoenix and yesterday represented New Zealand at under-19 level playing against Vanuatu in their 6-0 win.

It's been awesome to follow Leo and Kyle and their journey as footballers - and we're pretty lucky that we've been part of that journey too! Congrats to them and their whānau!

And to our current players who ran out for Ōmokoroa FC season, keep working hard and enjoying your football. Leo and Kyle are a great reminder that you never quite know where the game might take you. 💛💚

We're keeping an eye on the weather forecast for the last Junior games of the season tomorrow. 🌧
Home games at Western Ave are very likely to go ahead but obviously if you turn up and it's just not safe to play (flooded fields, lightning, etc), please discuss with the opposition and decide whether to play on (pun intended 😉).
If you have an away game, please check https://www.waibopfootball.co.nz/cancellations in the morning and also directly on the opposing club's socials in case of last minute field closures.

Ōmokoroa FC - Minis: we'll update the Minis FB page before 8am if your session is cancelled.

It was really disappointing to find our goals had been flipped onto their sides overnight, with one of them now broken as a result.

We choose to leave the goals up because we trust our community to look after them and make use of them, not just our own players. We'd love to keep them out for everyone to enjoy, but if this keeps happening we may have to start packing them away after training and games like other clubs do.

If anyone has any information about who did this, we'd like to hear from you. Please get in touch privately.

While we're here, a quick reminder: please don't ride bikes or motorised scooters on the fields. They tear up the grass and wreck our painted lines.

All of this adds up: a broken goal to repair, lines to redo, and packing goals away after every session if it comes to that. It's all more time and cost falling on a volunteer-run club that's here for the community. A bit of care from everyone goes a long way.

A few future NZ sporting legends came in to show off their Player of the Day vouchers and tell us all about their exceptional feats on the pitch!

Great to see the passion that our wee heroes have! Especially how i pull a hamstring merely thinking about running again!

Real pleasure to be supporting the Omokoroa Football club and the Katikati Junior Rugby Club!
