Get Home Safe

Website

Get Home Safe GetHomeSafe is an all-in-one safety system for lone, remote and travelling workers. Trusted by 500+ organisations globally.

Automated welfare check-ins, journey management, risk assessments + more via an easy-to-use app and live dashboard. Get Home Safe is a personal & worker safety App that sends a SMS and/or email to your listed contacts if you don't get home or to where you are going as planned. Be it anything from a two minute short cut through a dark alley to an afternoon working alone or even a fun night out, simply register what your plans are and Get Home Safe will check up on you throughout your chosen activity and check you get home safe! The really clever part is that alerts are sent from the Get Home Safe servers, not your phone. So you don’t actually need a working phone or even need to be conscious for an alert to be sent. That ability is truly amazing and it really could save your life! Your intended destination, GPS tracking, remaining battery life and an interactive map are all included in alerts to give your emergency contacts a head start deciding what to do next.

Multiple Sites is now live! πŸš€

One activity for a whole day of site visits. Plans change? Workers can add or remove sites mid-activity, and the right site contacts are alerted only while they’re there.

Less admin for your team, and no gaps in monitoring between stops.

Multiple Sites is available to organisations with the Fieldworker and Journey & Planning add-ons. Not sure if you have both? Contact [email protected] to check.

πŸ†• Android users, this one's for you. Save this post to set up panic shortcuts on your phone.

Panic shortcuts are here for Android too, and if your organisation uses GetHomeSafe, you'll want these steps handy.

We'll show you exactly what to do. Swipe through the 4 steps

1️⃣ Update to GHS app 4.35.0 or higher

2️⃣ Go to Panic Shortcut Setup, turn on Volume Key Sequence, and press the volume buttons six times in any pattern

3️⃣ Pick a pattern you'll remember under pressure. It's yours alone, so choose one you can press without thinking

4️⃣ Press your sequence during an activity. The shortcut only triggers a panic while an activity is running

Tap β€’β€’β€’ then Save to keep this handy for when you're ready to set up, or send it to your team so everyone gets set up at the same time.

Requires GHS app 4.35.0 or higher.

πŸ†• Does your organisation use GetHomeSafe? Save this post. It's the quickest way to set up panic shortcuts on iPhone.

Panic shortcuts are here. When someone needs help, the last thing they should have to do is find and open an app. Now your people can raise a panic alert with a tap on the back of their phone or a press of the Action button, even when the GHS app is closed.

We'll show you exactly what to do. Swipe through the 4 steps
1️⃣ Update to GHS app 4.35.0 or higher
2️⃣ Find the GetHomeSafe Panic shortcut in Apple's Shortcuts app
3️⃣ Assign it to Back Tap (iPhone 8 and later) or the Action button (iPhone 15 Pro and newer)
4️⃣ Try it. You'll see a confirmation screen, and no alert is sent during the test

Once it's set up, it works whether the app is open, in the background or closed, as long as the phone screen is awake.

Tap β€’β€’β€’ then Save to keep this handy for when you're ready to set up, or send it to your team so everyone gets set up at the same time.

Requires GHS app 4.35.0 or higher.

Meet Cat, our Junior Account Executive and a former registered nurse.

Before joining the world of sales, Cat worked in community mental health and on an inpatient unit, often alone and with no real safety system in place. We sat down with her to hear what that was like and why she’s now passionate about protecting lone workers.

It is National Safe Work Month in Australia πŸ—“οΈ

This year's Safe Work Australia theme is "Safe work is for life", and it's a good reminder that workplace safety isn't just about getting through the shift. It's about protecting people's health and future long after they've clocked off.

For people working alone or in remote places, there's an extra risk: nobody's there to notice when something goes wrong. Safe Work Australia describes remote or isolated work as work cut off from the help of others by location, time or the nature of the job, and says the more prolonged and severe the isolation, the greater the risk of harm (Source: Safe Work Australia, remote or isolated work).

So here's a question for your team this October: if a check-in was missed right now, who would find out, and how fast?

Over the month we'll be sharing one post each week, on to how to choose the right tools for your team.

Start with Week 1: what Safe Work Month is, why it matters, and what you can do. πŸ‘‡

We sat down with our Product Owner, David Taing, to talk through everything that's been happening behind the scenes at GetHomeSafe lately.

New mass messaging. A Partner Admin role that's already saving admins hours. What's actually changing with satellite-to-mobile hardware. And a first look at what's coming next on the roadmap.

David answers it all, including how ideas actually go from customer feedback to a live feature.

Plans change, now your journey plan can keep up. πŸ™Œ

We've launched journey editing in GetHomeSafe, so field teams can update activities and favourites on the fly instead of scrapping a journey and starting again.

βœ… Quick edits to planned activities and favourites
βœ… Declined approval? Edit & resubmit in one step
βœ… Favourite your regular journeys so they're always ready, details and all

Small change, big impact on keeping your team's safety plans accurate.

Ever had a team member head somewhere with zero mobile signal and just... hope they're okay until they're back in range?

That's the reality for a lot of remote workers, but it doesn't have to be anymore. Satellite-to-mobile technology means the phone in their pocket can now connect straight to satellites when the local network drops out, keeping safety check-ins and alerts working the whole time.

No extra gear, no satellite phones, just their normal smartphone doing a bit more than usual.

We put together a simple step-by-step guide on how to test this before you actually need it in a real emergency. Link's in the comments if you want to check it out πŸ‘‡

We're proud to share that GetHomeSafe is now SOC 2 Type 2 compliant! πŸ”’

Our audit was conducted by the team at Sensiba, proving that our security controls don't just exist on paper, they work consistently over time.

Our customers trust us with their people's safety. This certification is proof we take that responsibility seriously.

A huge milestone for our team. More on our blog (link in comments).

14 today! πŸŽ‚

It all started on a mountain bike trail near Queenstown. Our founder Boyd was riding alone on rough terrain when he lost control and nearly went over the edge of a steep drop. As he caught his breath, one thought hit him, if I'd gone over, how long before anyone even knew where to look?

That question sparked a personal safety app built in a garage. Today, GetHomeSafe is a world-class safety platform protecting workers and teams across the globe.

And this birthday week brought a milestone of its own, SOC2 Type 2 compliance βœ…

From one app to a complete safety system. From a garage to the world. Same mission since day one: help people get home safe. 🏠
