Nine years ago, I designed the extensions to this charming early-1900s cottage. My clients lovingly restored the original home, and together we created a new extension for the living and kitchen spaces.
It’s always rewarding to design renovations that are sympathetic to the home’s original character while enhancing the way it’s lived in today.
Check out the dining area, where the original exterior weatherboards have been left on one wall — a subtle detail that highlights the transition between old and new.

Kai Mocha cafe opens this Wednesday & I know from the sampling that I have done their food is delicious 😋.

Thank you NAWIC for the opportunity to do a site visit at the New Dunedin Hospital Outpatients Building yesterday.
It was a wonderful opportunity to see progress on this significant local project, meet the construction team, and network with other NAWIC members.

Feeling excited today!
I’m heading up to Oamaru for the ADNZ Regional Design Awards, held this evening at the beautiful Oamaru Opera House.

Although I don’t have any projects entered this year, it’s always such a great chance to connect with other designers and celebrate their achievements.

And of course, no trip to Oamaru is complete without visiting my all-time favourite spot – the Grainstore Gallery – where I’ll no doubt be admiring Donna Demente’s incredible artworks (and wishing I could take them all home!). I was lucky enough to purchase one of her smaller pieces on my last visit, not sure if I will be able to convince hubby that I need another . . . . - just yet ;)

It’s been such a pleasure collaborating with Jill from Resene Colorshop on a client’s colour scheme. I love the process of blending tones, textures, and finishes to create a look that not only elevates the space but also captures my client’s unique style and personality. Excited to see it all come together in the finished project!
