From 14th - 17th of October, 2025. Members of YEFON,NIMechE, AKWA IBOM STATE. attended the 38th International of the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers in
The event was marked by its outstanding organisation as members of the Forum participated in several activities:
Some of such activities included:
- Students members participated in the Patrick Andrew Innovation Challenge.
-Students members participated in the National students elections and Progress Effiong won elections for the Vice President of the National Students Forum, NIMechE
-Graduate and Young Corporate Members participated in the year long Graduate Proficiency Competition. The team led by Engr. Felix Umoren had other members which included Samuel Enobong, MNSE, Ofonime williams, Engr. Udeme, Ifiok - CEO, RealCool Engineering. The team called came first amongst 7 other participants. The Graduate Proficiency Competition is an innovative competition designed to challenge the creative faculty of young mechanical . TeamArise participated in the HIPEVAC design which was The design of Fresh Water and Waste Water systems of a two bedroom flat in a 10 storey building.
-Young Corporate Members also voted during the Annual General Meeting of the Nigerian Institution of . Engr. Ekerete Usak returned elected as a National Vice Chairman. A big plus to Akwa Ibom State and South South.
-The activities of the Forum also boosted the Group dynamics of NIMechE, Akwa Ibom State Chapter and the chapter came third behind Lagos and Illorin Chapter.
Speaking after the end of the Conference, the Co-ordinator of the Forum, Samuel Duff ,MNSE acknowledged that challenges are surmountable and the victories recorded was as a result of him and some other YEFON NIMECHE Leaders's initiative to choose sacrifice over comfort in the course of Leading the team to the Conference. One of the stakeholders that is also worthy of recognition is Hopeful Isong who served as the Head of Mobilization for YEFONNIMECHE AKS. He also played a big role in the transport/travels organisation for the movement to and fro Uyo and Lagos.
We also extend appreciation to Engr. Edima Inyang , FNSE for the release of the Eket branch bus to facilitate the movement. Special appreciation goes to NIMechE, Akwa Ibom State Chapter led by Engr.John Urua FNIMechE and Engr. Bassey Asanga, FNSE
