From 14th - 17th of October, 2025. Members of YEFON,NIMechE, AKWA IBOM STATE. attended the 38th International of the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers in

The event was marked by its outstanding organisation as members of the Forum participated in several activities:
Some of such activities included:

- Students members participated in the Patrick Andrew Innovation Challenge.
-Students members participated in the National students elections and Progress Effiong won elections for the Vice President of the National Students Forum, NIMechE
-Graduate and Young Corporate Members participated in the year long Graduate Proficiency Competition. The team led by Engr. Felix Umoren had other members which included Samuel Enobong, MNSE, Ofonime williams, Engr. Udeme, Ifiok - CEO, RealCool Engineering. The team called came first amongst 7 other participants. The Graduate Proficiency Competition is an innovative competition designed to challenge the creative faculty of young mechanical . TeamArise participated in the HIPEVAC design which was The design of Fresh Water and Waste Water systems of a two bedroom flat in a 10 storey building.

-Young Corporate Members also voted during the Annual General Meeting of the Nigerian Institution of . Engr. Ekerete Usak returned elected as a National Vice Chairman. A big plus to Akwa Ibom State and South South.

-The activities of the Forum also boosted the Group dynamics of NIMechE, Akwa Ibom State Chapter and the chapter came third behind Lagos and Illorin Chapter.

Speaking after the end of the Conference, the Co-ordinator of the Forum, Samuel Duff ,MNSE acknowledged that challenges are surmountable and the victories recorded was as a result of him and some other YEFON NIMECHE Leaders's initiative to choose sacrifice over comfort in the course of Leading the team to the Conference. One of the stakeholders that is also worthy of recognition is Hopeful Isong who served as the Head of Mobilization for YEFONNIMECHE AKS. He also played a big role in the transport/travels organisation for the movement to and fro Uyo and Lagos.

We also extend appreciation to Engr. Edima Inyang , FNSE for the release of the Eket branch bus to facilitate the movement. Special appreciation goes to NIMechE, Akwa Ibom State Chapter led by Engr.John Urua FNIMechE and Engr. Bassey Asanga, FNSE

Ekemini's role also includes specialized training, workshops, and testing of new software features to optimize model performance.

Engr. Francis Uwah, FNSE, FNIMechE, is a distinguished engineer and entrepreneur, currently serving as the Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Uyo Branch. He is the Managing Director of Snaeder Engineering Limited, a company providing engineering solutions such as pipeline construction, water reticulation, and electrical power facilities across industries.

A Fellow of NSE and NIMechE, Engr. Uwah has led numerous rural and urban projects in Akwa Ibom State and beyond. As an employer of engineering talent, he remains committed to advancing the profession and inspiring the next generation of engineers.

DAY 3 REPORT – YEFON-NIMechE Leadership & Engineering Summit

The final day of the 2025 YEFON-NIMechE Leadership and Engineering Summit was held at the Ministry of Works, Dakkada Secretariat, Uyo. It featured engaging presentations, a powerful panel session, and the much-anticipated Engr. Ekpedeme Umoidem STEM Innovation Challenge for secondary schools.

Students showcased creative projects solving real-world problems, while professionals shared practical insights on engineering, innovation, and leadership. The energy in the room reflected a shared commitment to building locally-driven solutions with global impact.

The Second day of the three day strategic Leadership and Engineering Summit ended on an engaging note with key-presenters and participants aligning ideas and thoughts towards the topics of the day.

Please ahead of the physical day of the YEFON-NIMECHE Leadership and Engineering summit today starting from 9am at the Conference hall, Ministry of Works, Dakkada Secretariat. We have set aside registration packages/summit materials to all our invited guest/sponsors/presenters/early-registrant who will be attending the physical event. There is no need to pay again for registration if you fall within this category of persons.

On the registration desk, ask for ODUNG to direct you on how to get your materials after due confirmation on this list.
For onsite payment for summit materials for today and tomorrow, Ask for Enobong Silas on the registration desk.

The hall has two access doors which will be fully opened to allow for Emergency exit and also in accordance with Safety Protocols.
The restroom/covenience is just after the rear exit(back door) of the hall
