On Monday, 28 September 2026, our technical team at Logic Sciences Security Systems Limited (LSSSL) successfully carried out preventive maintenance on one of the two Rapiscan Itemiser 5X Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) systems in operation at the facility of one of our valued customers at the MMIA Lagos International Airport Cargo Terminal.

We continue to provide the required technical support and maintenance services to help ensure reliable and effective operation. Explosive Trace Detection systems play an important role in aviation and transportation security. The Rapiscan Itemiser 5X is designed to detect and identify microscopic traces of explosive materials, helping security personnel screen baggage, cargo, parcels and other items quickly and non-intrusively.

Project Completion & Commissioning Update

We are pleased to announce the successful completion, testing, and commissioning of 2 units of Rapiscan Orion 935DX Cargo X-ray Screening Systems, supplied and installed by Logic Sciences Security Systems Limited, for Sahco Nigeria at 2 of their locations in Nigeria.

The systems were tested using the standard test pieces producing clear X-ray images and confirming the proper operation of key screening functions, including image analysis and accept/reject operations.

Radiation safety tests were also successfully conducted on the 2 machines, confirming safe operation of the 2 systems with no unacceptable X-ray radiation leakages.

As part of the project completion, end-user training was conducted for SAHCO personnel who will be responsible for operating the system.

The Orion 935DX provides advanced cargo screening capabilities, helping organizations detect prohibited and potentially hazardous items including lithium-ion batteries, while improving screening efficiency, cargo security, aviation safety, and regulatory compliance.

Rapiscan 627DV Fault Call – DHL Port Harcourt

Last week, we responded to a fault call on a Rapiscan 627DV X-ray Baggage Scanning Machine at DHL Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Following thorough troubleshooting and inspection, the issue was traced to a faulty internal battery in the machine’s UPS.

The faulty internal battery was bypassed, and the scanner was connected to the external UPS, after which the machine powered up and resumed normal operation.

Rapiscan Orion 927DX Fault Call – Port Harcourt International Airport

On Friday, 4 September 2026, one of our engineers went to Port Harcourt International Airport, Rivers State, to respond to a fault call on a Rapiscan Orion 927DX X-ray Baggage Screening System previously installed by Logic Sciences Security Systems Limited (LSSSL).

During systematic troubleshooting, a communication issue was identified between the Operator Control Panel (OCP) and the screening system. Further diagnostics revealed a faulty CAT6 communication cable, which was replaced.

✅ Fault identified

✅ Communication restored
✅ System returned to normal operation

Rapiscan Orion 928DX X-Ray Baggage Screening Machine – Fault Call at MMIA, Lagos.

On 27 August 2026, our engineering team responded to a fault call involving a Rapiscan Orion 928DX X-Ray Baggage Screening System which was earlier installed by Logic Sciences Security Systems Limited at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.

The airport team reported that the screening system had stopped operating and displayed an “X-ray Subsystem Fault” message, indicating that image quality could be affected.

Upon arrival, our engineers carried out the necessary checks and troubleshooting procedures. The equipment was subsequently restarted after the checks were completed. The fault message was cleared and the system returned to normal operation.

Our prompt response helped minimise equipment downtime and restore the screening system to operational status, supporting the continuous security screening of baggage in a busy international airport environment.

Last week, our team of engineers at Logic Sciences Security Systems Limited responded to a fault call on the Rapiscan RTT 110 EDS (Explosives Detection System) at the DHL Aviation Lagos Export/Import Warehouse.
