COMMUNIQUÉ ISSUED AT THE END OF THE STAKEHOLDERS' MEETING OF MARINE
EQUIPMENT OWNERS/LEASING ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (MEOLAN) HELD ON SUNDAY, 9TH FEBRUARY, 2025, AT J’S SIGNATURE HOTEL, 14-16 LOCATION ROAD, OFF TOMBIA EXTENSION ROAD, GRA, PHASE III, PORT HARCOURT.
The Marine Equipment Owners and Leasing Association of Nigeria (MEOLAN) convened a stakeholders' meeting on Sunday, 9th February 2025, at J's Signature Hotel, Port Harcourt. The meeting brought together 19 Managing Directors of member companies, to deliberate on critical issues affecting the sector.
RESOLUTIONS:
After extensive discussions on the prevailing industry conditions and the need for standardized pricing to ensure sustainability and fairness within the sector, the following resolutions were unanimously adopted:
1. The daily rate for a double screw pusher tug shall be set at ₦500,000.00.
2. The daily rate for an 800-1000 tonnage barge shall be set at ₦400,000.00.
3. The daily rate for a 700 tonnage and below barge shall be subject to negotiation.
4. This new pricing structure shall take effect from 1st March 2025.
5. Any member found faulting this directive will be sanctioned.
The association remains committed to fostering a conducive business environment for its members and ensuring that industry stakeholders adhere to fair and competitive pricing.
