🇳🇬 PATIENT RIGHTS IN NIGERIA: SHOULD YOU ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR OWN TREATMENT?
Imagine being in a Nigerian hospital. A nurse brings a wound dressing you have never seen before, or a doctor recommends a procedure you don't fully understand.
Would you ask questions, or would you keep quiet because you don't want to appear disrespectful?
Patients deserve clear information about their healthcare, including the medicines, procedures and medical devices used in their treatment.
Asking questions doesn't mean you don't trust your healthcare professional. It means you want to understand your care and make informed decisions.
💬 Let's discuss: Do you think Nigerian patients feel comfortable asking questions in hospitals? Have you ever held back a question because you were afraid of the response?
Share your thoughts respectfully. Your experience could help another patient find their voice.
