We lost money on a 1-metre piece of steel.
And we chose to.
After delivering 71 instead of the 72 pieces our client had paid for, we had a decision to make.
We could explain it away. Blame the driver. Blame the logistics. Or simply tell the client that HEB 100 wasn’t readily available.
We chose none of those.
We purchased an entire 12-metre HEB 100 beam, cut out the 1 metre we needed, delivered it to the client—and accepted the loss on the remaining 11 metres.
It wasn’t the most profitable decision.
But it was the right business decision.
Because in this business, you’re not just supplying steel. You’re building a reputation.
And sometimes, keeping your word comes at a cost.
At Merchant Magnate Enterprises, we believe your word should be worth more than your profit.
