*REGULATORY COMPLIANCE: THE FOUNDATION OF A CREDIBLE, BANKABLE AND GLOBALLY COMPETITIVE BUSINESS*

Dear Esteemed Members of the Dala Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture - DALCCIMA,

The recent directive by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) requiring mandatory disclosures on company letterheads, effective 1st August 2026, underscores the increasing importance of regulatory compliance in today's business environment.

Compliance is no longer merely a statutory obligation—it is a strategic business asset. Organisations that maintain full regulatory compliance enjoy greater trust from customers, financial institutions, investors, development partners, regulators, and international business counterparts.

In addition to complying with CAC requirements, businesses should ensure they are up to date with other applicable regulatory obligations, including SCUML (Special Control Unit against Money Laundering) registration where applicable, Annual Returns, tax compliance, and other statutory filings required by law. These compliance measures strengthen Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) standards, making businesses more attractive to banks, investors, and international partners.

A compliant business is better positioned to:

- Build credibility and corporate integrity.
- Achieve stronger KYC and due diligence ratings.
- Access bank financing, trade finance, and investment opportunities.
- Participate in government, donor-funded, and international programmes.
- Qualify for export opportunities and cross-border trade under AfCFTA.
- Reduce regulatory risks, penalties, and business disruptions.
- Win the confidence of local and foreign business partners.

As part of its commitment to supporting members, DALCCIMA will establish a dedicated Regulatory Compliance Support Desk, where members can access affordable professional consultancy and advisory services to facilitate compliance with CAC requirements, SCUML registration, post-incorporation obligations, corporate governance requirements, and other statutory regulatory obligations.

Our objective is to make regulatory compliance simple, affordable, and accessible, enabling our members to operate with confidence while enhancing their competitiveness in both domestic and international markets.

At DALCCIMA, we believe that compliance is not a cost—it is an investment in business sustainability, corporate reputation, investor confidence, and long-term growth.

We encourage all members to take advantage of this initiative and position their businesses as credible, compliant, and globally competitive enterprises.

Nigeria–Saudi Investment and Tourism Summit Organizing Team Seeks DALCCIMA Collaboration

The Dala Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (DALCCIMA) has received the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Nigeria–Saudi Investment and Tourism Summit, Sheikh Musa Umar Yahàya Al Yaro, at its Secretariat in Kano, as both sides explored a strategic partnership ahead of the summit scheduled for August 4–5, 2026, in Abuja, under the patronage and honour of the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

In his remarks, the President of DALCCIMA, Uba Tanko Mijinyawa, said the Chamber is keen on deepening economic ties between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia, particularly in agro-processing, manufacturing, renewable energy and Islamic finance. He stressed that DALCCIMA is looking for a partnership built on “mutual respect and shared risk,” rather than mere visibility or pageantry.

Sheikh Al Yaro said the summit, themed “Misconceptions, Challenges and Opportunities of Investing in Saudi Arabia and Nigeria Today,” is designed to unlock trade, investment and tourism opportunities between the two countries. He noted that the event will also create a platform for business engagement across key sectors including agriculture, manufacturing, solid minerals, healthcare, education, technology, halal industries and tourism.

The meeting was attended by the President of CONSCCIMA and Chairman of the Nigeria Commodity Exchange, Malam Dalhatu Abubakar FCICN, alongside other council members of DALCCIMA.

Mijinyawa said DALCCIMA brings curated market access, government interface, regional credibility and follow-through capacity to any meaningful partnership. “We are here to build pipelines, not exchange pleasantries,” he said.

He further directed the establishment of a Joint Strategic Collaboration Committee to coordinate stakeholder engagement, mobilize participation and support implementation before, during and after the summit.

Both parties agreed that the summit should serve as a platform to deepen economic cooperation, expand investment flows, promote tourism and strengthen trade relations between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia, with Kano positioned as a major gateway for international business and investment.
