Diesel fuel quality is now a major nightmare to most unsuspecting fleet companies, what are the constituents of your diesel oil?how often do your suppliers clean and filter their bunker?, do you have a filtration system before you dispense to your powerplants or vehicles?, or do you depend on installed filtration systems on your equipment to do the job,if the later is your answer then I bet you must have paid the price it takes to make that decision.
Fuel delivery and metering devices have seen premature wear and tear as it costs owners of powerplants and automobile assets millions of their hard earned monies,I remember commissioning a gas turbine powerplant some three years ago that ran on dual fuel(diesel and gas) since the gas facility was not available at the time of commissioning, we opted to use diesel oil to test run,after installing a new tank and purging the pipings the plant roared to life but shortly suffered from fuel stagnation, after going through few checks we arrived at the fuel filters,new fuel filters where already clogged, the frustration we had to go through was horrifying.
After that episode I went into action to find solutions, and I did get good ones,if you have gone through same experience and you don't know what to do,do share your experience with us here,we may just have one good solution for your situation.
