Achievers University and John Kollyns Technical Training Institute Forge Strategic Partnership
Owo, August 15th, 2024 – In a significant move to enhance educational and technical training opportunities, Achievers University, Owo, and John Kollyns Technical Training Institute, Akure, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on August 15th, 2024, at the premises of Achievers University.
This partnership marks a new chapter in the collaborative efforts between the two institutions. Achievers University, a leading private university established by Achievers Investments Limited, and John Kollyns Technical Training Institute, a registered training institution in Akure, are set to combine their strengths to produce highly qualified engineers and technicians.
Key Objectives of the MoU:
1. Resource and Expertise Sharing: The University and the Institute will pool their resources and expertise to offer comprehensive training programs, focusing on producing graduates who are well-equipped to meet the demands of the engineering and technical sectors.
2. Industrial Training for University Students: Students from the University’s Departments of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Mechatronics Engineering will have the opportunity to undertake industrial training at the Institute. This training, lasting up to three months during their third year of study, will provide hands-on experience in a real-world technical environment.
3. Academic Input for Institute Students: Students from the Institute specializing in Welding Technology, Glass Technology, Signage, and Branding Technology will benefit from academic input at the University. These students will spend up to eight weeks at the University, gaining valuable knowledge that will complement their practical training at the Institute.
4. Maximizing Partnership Impact: Both institutions are committed to maximizing the impact of this partnership. The MoU outlines a mutual commitment to utilize the collaboration for the advantage and benefit of all participating students, as well as to share knowledge and ideas to continuously improve the educational experiences offered by each institution.
