UNPLEASANT SURPRISES
TEXT: MATTHEW 7:21-23
MEMORY VERSE: "And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity" (MATTHEW 7:23).
Face detection apps such as are used on smart phones, homes, office doors, and many more devices, enhance security access. Where a face is not recognised by those devices, access is denied. A youth who is not registered in Heaven's database through salvation experience cannot gain access through its gates. Jesus taught that not everyone who claims to be a Christian will enter heaven (Matthew 7:21-23). Hence, William F. Hill declares, "I submit to you, that to wait until the day of resurrection to find out whether or not we are saved, is a very risky business at the least."
Some people may be surprised to find that certain supposed holy individuals they expected to see in heaven are not there. Remember, earthly successes do not qualify one for heaven. Heaven is a place of justice, and some people may be surprised to see how God deals with sin on the day of the final judgment (Revelation 20:11-15). This would be an unpleasant surprise for those who "work iniquity" and do not take God's justice seriously on earth.
QUOTE: Heaven is a place of perfect justice.
CHALLENGE: You will reap what you sow.
PRAYER: Help me to be true to You, Lord.
